Oil Leak and White Smoke
Hello everyone,
Recently I replaced the crankcase gasket and after a while I was seeing lot of white smoke from exhaust after the car was idle for a while (only when hot and idle). Before the replacement I didn't have any smoke problem. So I decided to check visually for anything weird. So I saw a major oil leak under the intake. Spark plugs are clean Any ideas? sounds like you have some sort of CCV issue and your intake is sucking up a lot of oil from the valve cover.
which crankcase gasket did you replace? The oil pan gasket? |

No the top, where the valve tronic and plugs are
I doubt that would be the valve seals since no smoke at cold start and no other issues regarding performance. Any way that I could check the ccv? |

that's pretty much the only way you end up with oil dripping out of the intake manifold is it came from the valve cover. |

some.
a light coating is normal. there's oil vapor in it that's why it's routed to the intke so they can be burned. did it smoke before you serviced the valve cover? did it smoke immediately after? if so, then 99% of the time it's the last thing you touched. |
