Thorne is the distribution centre for BMW's (sure you knew that). Drove past there last Saturday and I've never seen it so full, cars stock piled basically and a transporter bringing more new BMW's in. Either BMW are very hopeful about selling new cars or they've over produced.

Uncertainty for the workers there perhaps.

I don't think this is anything unusual. Dealers take advantage of their position and manipulate prices for 'nearly new' used cars all the time.
