Broken Coil, deciphering replacement
Hey guys so I came out to my car and found my front driver coil has split and decided to collapse, I am going to replace both but have encountered a bit of a confusing spot. I have looked on realoem for my 2006 325xi and for front coil it brings up nothing for the parts. I have been looking on germanparts.ca and they offer me 31336769917 and 31336769915, the latter being $40 less per coil. I have googled both and both say they're for my car and future x drives, but is there a reason for the newer part number? Any help is appreciated.

I would call a BMW dealer with your VIN and let them plug it into the spring selector and see what springs are right for your car. Get the part number and the alpha-numeric, like D6 or C3. With the alpha-numeric you might get lucky and find used springs at a good price from someone who upgraded to aftermarket.
