E90 320i misfires all the time

Hi I'm new here and already looking for some insight..

So i have a 320i e90 engine n46, that is my wife daily driver, it has 130k on the clock and the car was burning oil faster than petrol.

I have changed the PCV valve in case it was the cause and as it did not help I decided to do Valve stem seals, all went alright.

Finish assembling the covers and I started the car to test that's when i found that the idle was rough, ista+ found misfire errors (0029cc,0029ce and 0029cf) in several cylinders, cylinder 2 and cylinder 3.

Up until now I tried disconnecting the coil of each cylinder to test which one was misfiring , cylinder 3 is the cause, then I swap over coil number one and spark plug number one to the cylinder number 3, and it does the same.

I thought maybe the injector dirty so I removed the fuel line and clean all the injectors , still same issue, so I swap over injector 3 for injector 4, same issue and the last test I did was swap the lead of cylinder 4 with cylinder 3, and the problem still happens on cylinder 3...
I really don't know what else to test..

sorry for the length on this post .

I don't wanna be the bearer of bad news but sounds like you messed something up while installing the valve seals. I had an issue similar to this and took it to a mechanic he did a smoke test and smoke was coming out from cracks in the valve cover. I would certainly do a smoke test with whatever a cigar or a party smoke machine etc. Also check compression on all cylinders who knows if some rockers came off

thanks for the info, do you think a crack in the valve cover will affect only cylinder 3? where do you blow the smoke to check on the pcv valve connector ?

I will check compression later on..

found the problem, i had to open the valve cover again, but then i saw that the spring that pushes the valves was out of place.
