Does the 330D Manual Exist in Aus?

Question is in the title! Looking to upgrade from my manual 323i to a 330D but can't for the life of me find any evidence that a manual 330D even exists in Australia, did we not get it? I've found plenty of examples in the UK and alike but absolutely nothing here.

If there is only autos available, what is the steptronic like? Never driven a auto bimmer so would like to know more

Any info is appreciated!

Thanks gents

As you want to upgrade to a 330D then the presumption is that a diesel engine is preferred. If a manual transmission is also a requirement then consider the 320D.

The 3L diesel N57 is no longer imported in either sedan or coupe variant.

The N57 has 180kW and 520Nm with a single variable geometry turbo coupled with the ZF 6HP26 transmission. The ZF is a perfect compliment to the N57 and is used in other BMW series as well as different manufacturers including Aston Martin, Jaguar, Ford and Bentley. It is reliable and obviously has a higher torque rating than petrol coupled transmissions.

Generally speaking if you adhere to the service requirements, which are longer interval than petrol engine requirements, then you will have many enjoyable kilometers of driving, reduced service costs, wide torque band and confidence you never have need to visit these forums.

Well he's posted in an E90 forum, so I guess you could add they haven't been imported since 2012

Thanks for the information everyone. I forgot to include that I was going from an E90 323i to another E90 330D. Whilst the information is useful I'm afraid I'm still a bit foggy on weather Australia actually got the car, I've done some research on the auto box, and the results of it, paired with an xHP tune are tempting, however I'm afraid I'll miss the involvement of a manual, and would prefer to get one over an auto, but if auto is the only option, then I'm happy to settle with it.

No.

If you want manual transmission buy a 320D.

Haha you'll be surprise how quick the 320D is compared to a 323i but definitely will prefer a 330D! If only I had the money!

Hi Pyro - have you sold your 330D? If it was the black car on the post last year it looked to be a great car.

TomRat - I am coming onto this post a bit late, but pretty sure no manual 3Ltr diesel E90 series were available from the dealer in Oz (as is the case with the current but about to be superseded F30 series) - I only had the auto choice when I bought my 330D. But as others have said, the sports auto is terrific, and with the paddle shift minimises the turbo lag effect. The auto won't disappoint!

Check out the Motor Mag Bang For Your Bucks September 2010 Edition for just how quick and good the auto E92 330D is (0-100 6.25 sec; Qtr 14.39 sec; Wakefield lap 1:11.6; V Max 170 KPH).

330d to manual or dct - no problem at all.

Personally I could get into the diesel thing, probably the note really although they have come a very long way, however must say the m57 is a beast and a half. I've seen 1 that would smoke any stock turbo fbo n54/5.

The 330d is the first time I noticed bmw quoting minimum distance km, and as an enthusiast that's very very useful and surprisingly accurate.

Yea, sold it mid last year. Hard car to sell unfortunately, very few people go for them - which is a shame as it was fantastic. Honestly would pick up an F30 if they did a 330d here

But some P plater did his research and decided that was the closest to a 335i he could get with power restrictions. crazy really if you are familiar with the power they put out
