Need a rant and consolation

For obscene reason I had the bad idea of looking to see who had acquired my old and cherished car. A Z4M Coupe that was fast road prepared by a real race specialist thatys very well repected over here and an AC Schnitzer body kit, GruppeM CF Intake etc. It had some serious invesment in it (like €20k over 6 years inc servicing). Thats parts and top level servicing with all engine shims done etc.

Now this was a very entertaining though not for the fainthearted car to drive. I had to let it go for the usual £££ needs and the fact that I had no need for it in my life.

Some forum plonker was trying to tease me into a deal direct whilst I had agreed for a quick sale with a specialised garage. Well that same fella has bought it and is already dumping the ACS exhaust backboxes (yes not for all tastes, but with adjustments it would have fitted flush perfect and that's 3k new!), fitting some cheap ass Supersprint (lots of resonance and booming) and sticking 3M fake CF wrap everywhere.

How sad. It got me totally fyng. I felt like telling him to lookout for camshaft wear and look at replaceing them in 30k km, that a small plastic undertray piee was missing and that one of the wheels could do with being re-worked (its a little squre even if well compensated with weights), and get some latter generation tyres. But somehow, I don't think he'll give a damn. He's just going to boy race it for the noise, bing it and hopefully not get himself into a ditch - that chassis is very special.

Why does it bother you? Don't mean to sound like a dick but it's his car now and people have different taste regardless of how much things cost.

I know I know. And of course you're right. BUT

I think cars have souls.

These cars OEM are quite special (think of it as a lighter more agressive E46 M3, bit more clumsy too). This one was a bit special (a couple of friends who race for living thought the balance between power and grip was perfect) and its never put a foot wrong with me as looked after it well. Did a lot of miles and things with that car. very long journeys, blasts to work, summer, frozen winters, track days etc. Just think its in the wrong hands... Mind she's a bit of a cow if treated with disrespect, she'll let him know and give him a real fright

Children are for life but a car is just for Christmas, or for however many years you have it for!

I'd have a very full driveway if I'd kept even a fraction of my old cars!
