Tire Size Recommendations

I have a 2007 328I Coupe...It has the OEM wheel - code: 2C4 Star-Spoke 17 x 8 Wheels. Current tire size 225/45...Want to go with a larger tire without making any alterations to the car. What is the largest tire I can go with all around, possibly go with a staggered tire combination?

You could bump it up to a 235/45/17.

Could I go with a 235/45 Front and 245/45 Rear?

If you’re going to go to a 245, go with a 40 series tire. So 245/40/17. Check tire specs to see what wheel width they’ll fit on. 245’s should be ok on an 8” wheel for the most part.

To keep your rolling diameters closer, you could also consider sticking with 225/45/17 in the front and bumping the rear up to 245/40/17. You may also be able to get away with running the 245/40/17 in the front and rear. If you can get away with running the wider tire in the front and rear while retaining the ability to rotate tires and minimize understeer, it's a win win win.
