So I had an ignition coil go bad this morning I was accelerating and then boom SES, engine vibrating like crazy under any load at all, did this for like 5 miles then back to normal SES went away. Called Richmond BMW this morning so hopefully its CPO covered or I might need some help installing.

Anybody had an E92 tinted at United Solar? Im going through them to re-tint my car tomorrow morning. I asked for their method on the rear dot matrix, and the guy suggested a vinyl strip.

Balls, i remember you suggesting adhesive remover before applying the tint. I might tell the shop to do the same if they dont really have an approach.

Anyone been through this shop with success?

I had mine tint there. They do a good job, but I'm going to get my rear window redone again.

The place I went to did a good job, but took a while. 134 for install. Bought the tires on tirerack, had it shipped there. Even gave me up the best write up about my vehicle ever, told me my rims were bent again, but nothing serious, told me to watch out for my battery, but I knew that, and also mentioned that my TPMS mointers were loose and I should get new ones soon since the battery in them will die soon. Not a bad shop

cool thanks for the info. Approximately how long did it take for the tires to arrive?

Just have them shipped to wherever you're having them put on.

For that size, I recommend either Falken 452, Hankook Ventus V12 Evo, or Continentals. I had the Hankooks on my 350z and liked them a LOT for the price. Very cheap indeed. Just got the continentals of the rear of my car and it feels like a different car in comparison to those run flats.

I think Lane (Myriad) got his done there and was relatively successful with the job. The vinyl approach is actually a pretty decent one, but I don't like that it limits your visibility. My window tint guy thoroughly uses adhesive remover on the dot matrix and all around the edges before he starts. Adhesive removers are usually alcohol based so they flash off the glass and leave no residue, and they get rid of the tiny imperfections around the dots that doesn't allow the material to settle all the way. I did this all around my windshield before tinting it because I wanted ZERO bubbles so it wouldn't be obvious that it was tinted. Great success.

Thanks for the insight, guys. Some very good tips.

I might even bring some remover and tell the shop its a successful way to have the dot matrix tinted properly. Ben, any particular product you use or suggest?

If they dont want to use the remover, then i think the vinyl strip could work. I had that on previous cars, but my back window was 5%. Not sure if the vinyl would stick out or look odd with a lighter shade of film.

Love united solar. Bobby did a great job. I got a vinyl strip on mine too. He recommended it, Llumar actually has it in their program to have the vinyl cut for the dot matrixing. I asked about sanding but he said it wasn't worth the risk. I had 35% all around, no visibility issues nor can you tell that vinyl is there from the outside. It looks 90% good, I think it could be done a bit better as far as the dot matrixing still showing up a bit but for 120 dollars for the whole car I wasn't complaining. They did a nice job and for good money. They did my vinyl trim as well for 100.

I like Mincz Tire down here in Midlothian. They did well by me and gave me some Nitto tires for a great price.

I was amazed at how cheap they were. Their website has a $150 special for a coupe, and when i called they said its actually $130 right now.

I think im just going to go with the vinyl strip. Im familiar with that method, and if Myriad is pleased with the result, then im comfortable.

While im there im also going to ask about the window trim...

Just tell Bobby he did my car (Gray E92) like two months back. He told me he would do 100$ for any other BMWs that came in if he messes /w you on the price. I can snap some pics for you after work if you'd like
