I traded my E90 328 with 94k miles on it for $9.5k last year. You should be able to get $8k with ease if your car is in damn near perfect shape, the rest takes some negotiating.

I'm seriously considering following Stig's setup and skipping FI. Supersprints or AA, 3 stage, evolve and 104 octane

Well not to argue, but, if anything, your experience corroborates my informed appraisal of my car's value, since it's now a year later and i have 135k miles on it (not to mention I actually know it's condition and the car market where it resides). So, it's trade in value is consistent with your experience and I certainly don't consider you to be an idiot for trading your car in.

If anyone wants to buy it for 10k sight unseen, sources on e90post claim you can easily flip it for 12-14k

here is my rule

"Never trade your car in unless it has major problems and you just need to dump it."

If your car is in good shape there is not question that you would get more than what the dealer is offering you

I almost trade in my mazda 3 for my 328 for 4000$ but my wife sold it in a week for 5500$. The dealer wanted 34000$ for a 328, while I got adeal for 27 000 privately ( the owner of the 328 was also going to trade it in but the dealer offered them 25 000 $)

I also ask for a trade in appraisal for my SUV , and the dealer said they ll give me 10 000 $ even though they have all the maintenance history of my car and all major common failure parts were replaced under warranty ( including a wave plate located in the transmission which is the biggest problem with my suv), In the meantime my wife told me they were selling the exact same car , with similar mileage and no DVD package for 22 000$ , needless to said I told them where to go. If they had offered me at least 14 000 I would ve ended up driving a camaro SS

Bottom line is , unless you car has major problems and it is a big hassle to sell , dont trade it in . Find out how much they ll give you and see if you can get more

we had a Sentra that they wanted to give us $1k for (actually, figuring the cost of the car we were looking to purchase, they would have actually been giving us nothing). we sold it in 2 weeks for $4k. We then paid $5500 for our Subaru, drove it for 5 years and put 100k on it, then sold it for $5000. trade in on that thing would have probably been $1500. trade in makes no sense unless you've got money growing on trees.

I want to know where all these $6k E90s are.. that aren't salvage titles or in poor condition. I'd buy it and then flip it for a $8k profit.

Why would you buy Evolve when the AA package is cheaper and theoretically makes substantially more power?

that set up is excellent and reliable. I can't think of one negative side effect.

Evolve codes with Siemens, the manufacturer of our ECU. They can get every ounce of power out.

I hope ESS delivers for your sake. Ordering early I'd have figured you'd be driving by now

I said I'm CONSIDERING Evolve Nothing against AA or ESS in the slightest, I just do my homework first. They were intriguing...that's it.

I did my homework too, and AA was my tune of choice!

I wish I could try all of them in some sort of Whitman's Sampler.

Evolve codes with a little software called WinOLS. There is base information from Seimens that they have to get a base understanding of what the ECU is like. The tuning stuff is one complicated world, apparently one must spend thousands just for simple checksum corrections.
