oil level stuck at 3/4

Saw the oil level wen to 3/4 so I added a little oil and took it for a drive, but it continued to stay there. I was paranoid so I did an oil change and still nothing?. Could it be a bad sensor?

It's very possible. My oil sensor went bad on my old 2007 M3.

How long did you drive for? It has a set cycle of oil heating up before it will read a new level.

Pretty sure you need to let it idle for 5min after it is warm before it updates. So drive it, then let it idle.

If the sensor is bad you'll get an error.

Add a little more oil. It will measure no matter if you're idling or driving, but it needs to be fully warmed up.

Did you refill it with 6.5L of oil?

The oil level sensor will first perform a static measurement after about 5 minutes. It will then do a dynamic measurement when you drive. I cant find the technical pdf anymore but a dynamic measurement is the most accurate measurement from what I recall it saying.

Drive around for a while and if it doesn't change, add 1/3 then drive around more. I wouldn't try adding more after that.

The intended operation of the sensor is to refill it with 1 full quart when it's at the minimum. It'll tell you after you park. There's no need to top it off in-between.
