I drive pretty spirited... as possible and safely of course... 45 everywhere, but I dony go into Virginia's reckless driving range. (already got off easy once...) So 55 almost everywhere (given the space, and a good spot; feeling up that powerband, ya feel?), stop n' go with all the traffic and a full tank of 93 equates to usually 296 miles on a tank purely city driving ... maybe that'll change in the winter. Math makes it scary.. haha........... smiles per gallon.
I know with the drive back from BPC I filled up once for safe measure, and when I was crusing at 75 or whatever through NC, I was in the low 400s for a full tank? Cloudy memory, sorry! But this is purely my experience... no catalytic converters in my exhaust. IDK what you're running... Also a 6M/T.

Gosh whenever I drive in Virginia I don't even look at the accelerator the wrong way. God forbid your ever have to go into Rappahannock County.

Hey Hass, what's your cruising speed when you're getting 35mpg on the highway?

60-75. I've done 300 miles on half a tank, total range is like 575 miles. The 3.15 gears and 6mt probably help.

I drive I-40 across the state of Tennessee quite frequently. If you don't keep it at 80-85 mph you'll be run over. I can't imagine having the patience to keep it under 70mph.

I'm kind of meh with my 21.5 MPG average, but it is what it is. I guess it is an N/A 6 cyl. 'performance' motor, after all.. but it would be nice to get more like 25 mpg. This is with pretty lame driving, too. Shift at 3k rpm typically, but yes I do enjoy her from time to time. Also, about 50/50 highway/city.

Same here. I'm typically 20-21 mpg around town. Still hit 31-32 hwy.

My fathers auto E90 328i gets around 24mpg. It must be my laziness of not going into 5th gear at 40-50mph. It's crazy I never use 5-6th unless I'm on the hwy.

My sisters 7 speed PDK Macan GTS will go into 6th gear at 40mph when it's in comfort mode. Crazy!

I regularly get mid 20s in town, high 20s, low 30s on the highway

I use 3rd for 25mph, 4th for 35-40, and 5th between 45-55mph. 6th for anything above that. If I'm in stop and go, I just idle in 1st.

yeah, some places you can drive 85-95 mph. Here, you're lucky if you can go the speed limit. Besides that, I haven't had a speeding ticket in years, and I plan on keeping it that way.

The thing I like best about the MT is the damn thing isn't always changing gears randomly. the autos seem to always want to be either one gear too low, one gear to high, or switching back and forth. ugh.

I'm in NYC traffic, true, but I'm struggling to get 16-17mpg where I used to get 19.
I look at the pedal the wrong way and that little needle gets buried on the 12mpg.

Bob at BPC says they is no fuel trim with the tune.
I'm struggling to understand why my gas mileage got so bad since I plugged in the DISAs.
Gas mileage was fine when the tune was installed but the DISAs weren't plugged in.

Doesn't smell like gas, just seems like a guzzler.

That does seem low. But remember the extra torque developed with the Disa valves does not come free. If you are accelerating faster at all, you will burn more fuel.

I'm a high mileage guy, long commute and ran the car for extended times with stock 215hp then three stage manifold, then stock 330ish tune and several custom tunes.

Nearly no change in my steady state fuel economy.

If you mileage is off I'd look for another cause.

BTW, you do have the disa valves connected to the correct cable?

Your car is an Automatic correct? Have you tried flashing the 330 transmission file?

Car is a 6MT

09 328i 91000 miles. No codes no CELs.

It has a BPC 3 stage IM tune.

I barely touch the gas to move and that needle buries itself to the right...

Could not connect the cables to the IM any differently. One long and one short only reach the valves one way...

Taking the car on a long road trip tomorrow. Will see how it does with more highway driving I guess.

yeah that doesn't make sense to me. our X5 does that, but my 330i barely goes below 20 unless I'm purposefully accelerating.

Just uninstall the tune and report back how it drives.

Hey, with turbos it's easy.

I'll use 5th for cruising over 40 mph, 6th if I'm over 50 mph. But that's just for cruising, no acceleration.

Hmm, even when I barely get on it, my readout is typically somewhere in the 7-12 mpg range, especially in the lower (shorter) gears. Normal acceleration IMO.

I don't think mine is like that. I'll have to check, but my car needs some serious TLC. Daily driving 25K a year means it gets beat up on a lot, and you don't pay attention like you used to.

Heh, yeah.

I eventually turned off the mpg display because I was tired of the car telling me how much gas it was drinking - I'd rather ignore it and enjoy the damn thing.

Switched mine to Oil Temp before the move. Haven't changed it back.

I'm averaging 21mpg overall with a 40 mile daily commute. I get 30mpg on the highway at 70mph but I generally travel faster than that. My city mileage was never good. I got 16 to 18 while I lived in SoCal and that was before the tune.

So far on road trip with wife and 2yr old and a full trunk, we have averaged 25.8 mpg. This is mostly highway 60-80, and state highway (non interstate) 45-65, and some small-town driving. I've also put my foot in it a few times, jus to give it the Italian tuneup (it's nice to drive outside the city.)

Car is responding a little better, actually. Got on it and it really flew from 65-95, pulling nicely in 4th/5th.

Will see how it does when we get back to NYC.

One thing is clear: it's gonna need some serious cosmetic TLC.
The rashes from parking in Brooklyn are all over. Probably looking at $3000 just to clean it up and fix the bumpers.

If I want better fuel mileage I just drive my 2005 Prius. On trips at 75mph its gets around 50MPG. The car just cracks me up. I bought it to figure out how it works. Love that tin can. If I want bad mileage I get my old 88 M-5 out of the garage. It usually gets around 12 to 13 MPG unless I really baby it but what fun would that be.
