A mounting kit would be good, it consists of new mounting hardware. Although, are you sure that your shocks and struts are shot after 72k miles? That seems like low mileage to replace.

It will be easiest especially for the fronts if you go ahead and replace everything and have them assembled and ready when you pull the old ones off, else you're looking at putting them together at the same time you're installing them. That's bumpers, bearing, perches, gasket, lots of parts you don't think about until you're looking at them all crumbly and torn. You don't mention if you're turbo or N/A, but I think these supporting parts are the same. They are in my 325 & 330, be sure to check. I'd go thru these parts lists....

So, no real consistency there and all cars are driven about the same. Although I don't have data to back this up, I do think RFTs make shocks wear faster. |

Listen to rothwem, and have your car put up on a lift to check the rear.
Also with your mileage, and unless you shocks and struts show signs of oil leakage, leave them alone. I repeat, leave them alone. |

I’d second Serf27’s recommendation of that FCP kit.
RealOEM will be your friend on this one. From experience, basically all of the “strut sandwich” should be replaced. Make sure you have replacement pinch bolts on hand for where the knuckle holds the strut. My impact sheared these bolts clean off. (I live in snowy climate so they use a ton of salt on the roads.)

On the rear the Monroe upper mount is the go to, about 15 bucks each. Dont laugh. It was hashed out years ago. Not squishy like stock. A site search on Monroe will bring some threads up on it. I went with the B12 kit, + Eibach sway bars front and back.

No one's mentioned a spring compressor if you plan to re-use them (I did). Watch lot's of video prior to compressing them as it's dangerous and could harm you!

Last summer, I installed lowering spring perches on the front to get rid of the wheel gap. I was not comfortable with the spring compressor loaner from Autozone, I put all the parts in a 5 gallon bucket and had a local shop assemble the spring and top hat.
If I needed to do struts and shocks, I'd probably do a Cup kit and lower it slightly. I'd also do a mounting kit to refresh the worn-out parts. The Cup kits come pre-assembled so it's just a matter of tearing down and installing new parts.

ALso one problem is with the additional bushings it doesnt really show on the "bounce test" on a stationary car. The bushings take some of load, which means if your shocks are shot your bushings are doing more work. |

https://www.amazon.com/8MILELAKE-Mac...72593686&psc=1 Those are much better as they grab the entire top spindle, the ones that clip in the sides dont usually get enough of the spring to be useful. |
