It was well worth the journey wernt it. You have got the crem de la crem remap/upgrade kit for the 335d If I had the £3800 spare id be flying up the m6 as well.

The power increase without changing engine internals is a testiment to BMW. Same with the N54/55. Some of the figures you can get with those is unreal.

Its almost best and definitely easiest to go with someone plenty of people on this forum have dealt with.

I am not after max hp, i'd like more than stock but keeping the smooth drivability and power delivery is key for me seeing as I use it for my commute each day. I've heard some get you extra power and in normal motorway driving a few extra mpg - sounds like best of both worlds to me!

Edit: Just checked the nearest quantum dealer and it ended up being the guy who is a friend of a friend. Was initially apprehensive comparing him against the "big names". Guess he would be ok if he is one of their approved tuners.
From what I understood from the guy that did mine is, they download your current map & then by the marvels of technology it's sent to quantum who rewrite it & send it back to the tech who then downloads it back to your car.
Like yourself maxing bhp wasn't what I wanted to do as I was concerned about reliability.
If I was in the market for another remap I would use quantum again.

Where are you located? I can recommend the Quantum dealer I used. He's the one who runs all their training courses and knows his stuff

Southampton area. Don't mind travelling London way or equivalent distance if it means its done properly.

Also, with all your guys respective remaps did any of you get the extra burbling sound that many seem to experience after getting the BMW PPK upgrade? My car is all stock and I can hardly hear any burbling from the exhaust when lifting off the throttle. Maybe this is something a remap can do as well?

Thanks for the responses so far, all very helpful.

It was actually closer to £3k than you think, with some nice extras, but yes definitely worth it!

Yes it crackles & pops more on over run during down shifts & makes a nice buuurrb noise on acceleration especially in sport.

I would stick to the known companies.

Cobb or JB4, because of the flexibility to remove at any time and they've around lots of forums for ages.
