So I'm trying to find the coolant temp sensor. I have an e92 coupe with N51 engine. I've tried looking it up and everything I find is different from my vehicle but I found one similar but wanted to check with others before. I'll leave a photo with what I was told was it and with what Advanced auto parts gave me. The sensor I got from them doesn't look like anything under the hood. Keep in mind that I don't know too much about cars honestly.

I don’t know about the N51 but that looks like the sensor that went in my old M54.

The sensor you're holding in your hand goes in the lower radiator hose. Don't remember off the top of my head if N51 has one there.

From what I can see doesn't look like there is one down there but I could be wrong. Just wanted to know before I go taking things apart and waste time that doesn't need to be wasted ya know
