Best new tyres for 330i M Sport?
Need to get some new tyres very soon, and just wondering what other peoples thoughts are? (Note, I'm not running run-flats and don't intend to)
Being an M Sport, my car runs 225/40/R18 front and 255/35/R18 on the rear. My current tyres are Bridgestone Potenza RE003's which have lasted an incredible amount of time and always lived up to expectations in terms of handling performance. Previously, I had Michelin Pilot Sport 4's which were insanely grippy but wore out rather quickly. I'm very tempted to go for the RE003's again, but wanted to ask what tyres others would recommend for the best compromise between performance, longevity and comfort. Thanks in advance ![]() |

I’m looking at the Michelin A/S 3 ultra high performance all season. Cosco has a great deal on them. I think it’s $650 with install, and balance.
Curious to know, how many miles did you put on the Bridgestones? Also, did you carry a spare, or mobility kit? Is the ride worth going to non runflats? I have Runflats on my 2008 E90 sport package, staggered set up, and I’m contemplating going non Runflats. Thanks. Last edited by ny325; 05-26-2020 at 09:55 PM.. |

Today I finally decided to go with non run flats. I just ordered Michelin Ultra High Performance All Season 4 tires. They just came out, to replace the A/S 3. I’m going to carry a tire plug kit, and a compressor in the trunk. They should arrive by Friday.

Not sure too many will be able to give you feedback on the tires you currently have on your car as they are not sold in the states where the majority of this forum's members live.
Generally high performance favorites then to be the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, Continental ContiSportContacts, or Firestone indy 500. that being said if you are happy with the current tire its never a bad idea to keep what you already have. |

The potenza RE003s are rebranded firehawk indy 500s in NA. I have them as well and am well into my 3rd year out of them (switch to winter tires for almost half the year). For the price they cannot be beat.
I think they were 1/3 the price of the comparable Michelin PSS. If you don't put on a lot of miles per year, and don't mind having winter tires (if your area freezes) a dedicated grippy summer tire is ideal. |

What is your budget, does the climate you live in make a Winter/Summer setup necessary or do you prefer an all season tire? The PO installed Michelin PS3 RunFlats and I installed PS4S standard tires on it when they needed replacing. I live in the American SE and rarely see sleet or snow so I don't feel the need for an All Season or Winter tires. As far as sizing, I went one size wider to 235/40 and 265/35 and am happy with the performance.

I second the Indy 500's (RE003). They're currently the best performance tire value option here. After burning up my PSS's I went with the I500's for almost 60% of the price of the PSS.

Thanks to all for the replies, I ended up going with the RE003's again as I thought I may as well stick with what I have had a good experience with.
Unfortunately, when replacing them the tyre shop discovered 3/4 wheels cracked ![]() That said, I wonder if comfort levels vary much between these low profile tyres or are they all about the same? |
