Fronts are on, haven?t done the rear but that might change if this works out without machining

I mean that they make the two piece dimpled rotors I linked to in the other thread.

Hey mariusc, can you also confirm that the handbrake shoes are covered etc ? Im perplexed. How can the rotors vary THAT MUCH? These discs would be all the way out on a stock e60 surely ??

The rear rotors are one piece steel.
Measured today and the height is 61 mm measured from the hat (lying down) to inner rear surface. There is a lip which extends the inside total height 2.5 mm. The handbrake works good (but I didn't adjust it properly yet). There was some rubbing between the inner "lip" of the rotor and the sheet metal between the dust shield and the rotor. The sheet metal is a cover behind the handbrake which I bent inwards with a hammer and a flat head screw driver. I think it's all OK now, but didn't have time to do a test drive this evening. Here's a picture of the metal that needs to be bent inwards. You can see the rotor has already grinded it a bit. ![]() Last edited by mariusc; 10-02-2017 at 05:05 PM.. |

I may be getting the caliper milling confused, but my understanding is the rear calipers must be milled to fit, does this mean we no longer need to do that if we use this rotor instead or is that something different? I am going to assume the milling of caliper to create fitment to the car is still needed, and this is in reference to fitting different rotors to the car. So, what is the recommended rear rotor? I still need to buy those and don't want to spend a lot of money. Last edited by SingleturboVert; 10-02-2017 at 07:48 PM.. |

I sure wish that retrofitting the F30 sport rears to the E90 335i cars was much easier. Milling the rear calipers & maybe using an E60 335i rear rotor is good. But there still seems like to much guess work, trying to tolerate varying clearance issue & overall out of the box precision to make this plug & play yet.
You would think one of use would've simply taken a 3-D model of the ECS bracket, made some very & minor adjustments & made this kit a precise & painless kit for us all to enjoy buy now. One can only hope right... ? Just my .02... ![]()

![]() I didn't have to mill down mine, but I'd be sure you could do it yourself with a file since not much will have to be removed anyway with E60 rotors... |

They had to be elongated. I did "some" elongating at first, then mounted the calipers. The pads was then hanging just about inwards of the inner wear surface on the rotor. Elongated some more, until the pads leave appoximately 1 mm edge on both inner and outer surface of the rotor.
