Just an update;
I have now owned my 2006 BMW 330i M-Sport for over 3 years and the only things I have done is replaced some old gaskets and new spark plugs. Meanwhile my BMW 330i M-Sport facebook page has now reached over 2,000 likes https://www.facebook.com/BMW330iMSport/ I have decided to add M-sport badging to the exterior of the car as it has the other M-Sport options Editions and packages P337A M Sports package S704A M Sports suspension S710A M leather steering wheel S715A M Aerodynamics package |

Bye bye 330i...
It was a sad day, but the time had come to finally sell my 330i. My goal was to hit 200k miles, which I did earlier this year. It has been a dependable vehicle, but required a lot of work. I washed, clayed, polished, ceramic-coated, and sealed the paint to prepare it for the next owner. I posted on Craigslist on Sunday, and surprisingly sold it the very next day, Monday evening. It was the first car I had purchased on my own, learned how to properly clean/detail, and perform repairs/maintenance. I'll miss the naturally-aspirated engine and the linear, responsive throttle. Bye bye N52.

Just saw this thread.
I got a 2006 330i 6MT, M-Sport, to replace my '08 328i 6MT, M-Sport,, which I had owned for 7 years, but that was killed last summer by an idiot who decided to pull out of a parking lot into moving traffic... When I got her at the end of October, she had 207,000 kms on her (about 128,600 mi). She now has a little over 215,000 kms (about 133,600 mi). I added a few items to her: bluetooth/USB, Power folding mirrors, FRM2, updated Professional radio, updated climate control faceplate, Euro airbox/K&N filter and silicone tube, custom shift knob, swapped the chrome window trim to matte shadow, and did a bunch of custom coding. I have a 3.64 differential waiting for the US border to open, and I plan on a set of headers/tune, and full suspension refresh (planning on keeping her long term). I really LOVE this car! When I was looking for a replacement for my 328i, I wanted a pre-LCI E90, for sure, and decided to try to find a 330i (I had a 3 stage intake that I had planned on installing in my 328i that never got done, so I figured I'd cut out the middle man, heheh...). It took a few months, but I got the car I wanted, and am VERY happy! Cheers! |

Hey guys! And ladies perhaps!
I don't usually post but I read a lot. This forum helped me so many times over the years. So, I just wanted to contribute. Now, on N52 platform swapping rear diffs from manual to auto has been very successful. Many of you guys done it & seems to be happy with the swap. But, us with the auto cars has no alternative unless you dish out big $$$$$ from a reputable vendor. So, I decided to do some experiment. I checked the available rear diffs cross the platform and found 3.91 pumpkin from 328xi. Hhmmmmm, then I took my time, researched realoem.com & came to conclusion that a rear diff from 328xi was the one. I said what the hell, worth the try. I got one used from ebay. And to my surprise, it was PnP. Just take the 3.64 from the car and put the 3.91 in. I put liqui moly fully synthetic 75w-90 gear oil while it was out. Swap needed 2 people but with a lift you probably could do it yourself. You feel the difference. Car is more lively. Maybe, should've come from factory like this. I just wanted to let you guys with the steptronic cars, this mod from 3.91 328xi works plug and play. Perhaps, I might be the only one so far. Combined with stage 3 xHP transmission flash, Hallelujah |

Man reading this old thread makes me wonder what happened to my old 330, and is it still in the good condition it was when I sold it all those years ago.
I should look up the vin.

I've been reading a lot of those on this website. Makes me happy Wish I could've done it but when the E90 was introduced in the U.S. I was 16. Couldn't afford a new BMW It'ss weird when I read the ED thread, it kinda makes me sad that BMW got rid of the ED program. |

Just got mine at 67,500 miles in excellent condition. Automatic step tronic in SGM color. Luckily I noticed on my own ppi at pickup that the water pump just broke so the bmw dealer fixed that - saved me a lot of trouble!
This is a great car and in my opinion a collectible keeper. But it also will be my daily driver for a long commute. I’m relatively new here so here’s some basis for saying that: 1. I just owned a 2011 328i sedan bought at 98,000 miles and I put 4,000 miles on her—hit by truck and totaled otherwise I would’ve kept her. This was a great car too but the 2006 330i feels more special. Handling of my 2006 sport package feels tighter. 2. Before I picked up my car, the dealer gave me a 2012 f30 328i to drive. I put 500 miles on her so I can comment on the differences. It was fine, still a good car but I wasn’t crazy abt the f30 electric steering, softer suspension (even on sport and sport plus), and the response of the turbo i4. 3. I currently drive two bad ass 2017 corvettes I have in my signature, one 460hp (automatic 8 speed) other 650hp at the crank (manual-7)— These are keepers too. The 2006 330i is obviously a different kind of car. But it’s just as fun a drive on the streets, if not a little more just because I can push it more to the limits there. Road feel with the 330i sport package is similar to my vettes on Tour mode, which are on GM’s magnetic ride suspension—330i is softer than Vette sport and track modes. It is also quite a looker to me as I find myself looking back at it like I do with my vettes. I do think the steering is set a tad heavy on the 330i as the c7 vette has a now legendary steering feel (akin to “being on rails”) and it is dialed in less heavy.

Man, I wish I could find the previous owner of my 330. Black Sapphire, MT, Sport Package, non i-Drive, Black Dakota interior, and had a slot cut in the front bumper. It came from Beach Ford in Virginia Beach.
