N52 (Possible) Starter Upgrade?

Hey guys, so as the title states, I was wondering if there is any sort of "upgrade" that would potentially crank faster, last longer, without too much modification?

I know it sounds dumb, but I'm doing preventative maintenance and I've previously upgraded one of my old trucks starters, which was a 6.0, with a 6.3l starter.

Just looking to see if maybe we can take a bigger starter from a bigger motor and it could potentially match up to the N52's liking?

I think maybe if you went with an aftermarket brand you could call it an upgrade as it's hard to make starters that consistently fail at a tad over 100k the same way Bosch does. However my new Bosch one cranks great, anything faster you'd have to clutch dump the thing while rolling lol

You want better starter life, maintain good batteries and cable connections.

It's low voltage and high current that will do the most damage. Remember our batteries are in the trunk and the cable run and voltage drop is pretty high.

Of course over cranking is pretty hard on the starters as well. Fortunately these motors never require much cranking to start.

Upgrade the cable from the battery to the engine bay with a better wire gauge and material. Then, purchase a ctek battery Bluetooth dongle that reads your battery health via iOS or Android device
