Did a test run with Stage 2 this afternoon; I added the ER n55 charge pipe to my config as well due to the fact that I was running 16psi on Stage 1 with race gas and I did not want to break the OEM cp.
This afternoon's test: JB4 Stage 2 - MAP 2, 93 octane w/ NOS Octane Boost with MMT, Vishnu cat-less DP, ER charge pipe, aFe cai, Remus Race exhaust 1st run: 2nd gear, D/S mode, 'default' traction - WOT stomp @ 20 mph... boost was so instant the vehicle lurched/launched forward so hard the traction control engaged and immediately killed fuel... it recovered... lurched again and killed fuel. (sequence occurred in about 3 seconds) but did not result in any "limp" mode condition... this was the car "doing its job" to recover from "loosing control". 2nd run: Same conditions as above, just had traction control partially engaged - WOT stomp @ 20 mph... boost instant, launch was controlled and it pulled like a friggin' train. Even though I am running LESS psi than Stage 1, I have to agree with Andrew on this, it feels like it pulls harder and it definitely doesn't have the sharp drop off that the stage 1 had in 2nd or 3rd gear WOT runs. 3rd and 4th runs were consistent. Noted: With Stage 2 with my current configuration, I must have traction control partially engaged OR cap off 1st and 2nd gear psi to a limit the car can handle safely while in "default" mode. Since I am running 103 octane right now, I'll try MAP 7 and report back which should resemble what I was running prior to Stage 2. Overall, very impressed and cannot wait until my next dyno. Then onto METH...

Theoretically speaking, this setup of yours in map 7 with race gas should be putting out approx how much HP? 320-330whp/360-380tq?

My "Stage 3" will be adding the BMS WW Meth kit and the Helix IC. Goal is 375-400 rwhp and 430-450 Tq.

I wanna see who gets the absolute closest to 400. It's obvious meth will be necessary and probably FBO but at least we can see which parts are the best to this given all of the different manufacturers offering stuff.

Papa, If you are having trouble with 1st and 2nd gear there is a traction assist that can help you with that. How does the traction assist work? If you find traction problems too severe in 1st and/or 2nd gear you can cap the maximum boost/torque achieved in those gears to aid with traction. You'll find them under user settings. A value of 10.0 in 1st and 12.0 in 2nd will limit boost to 10.0psi while in 1st gear and 12.0psi while in 2nd gear. When in 1st or 2nd gear under the boost limit you may hold down the steering wheel volume or talk button to bypass the limit while the button is held down. For example if doing a burn out at the track. |

Just ordered the Stage 2 with CAN tool.
Do I have to get the car software updated before I can install the tune? Also what items do y'all suggest I order in addition to this purchase? I appreciate the help |

you don't need CAN tool for the stage 2. It comes integrated with it. Yes, you need the latest DME update for the tune to work properly. A downpipe would be the next biggest gain.

Thank you
I just wanted to thank you for your excellent diy. I have never tuned a car before and I just got the n55 stage 1 and 2. I used your post with the help of Terry's in n54tech and and great stage 1 diy in same place by platformer and I am done in 1:15 start to finish.

first impressions......
so instead of starting stage 1 then upgrading to stage 2, i just went with both right away. So no comparisons between 1 and 2, but from stock to 2, Holy Shit! The first thing i noticed was the turbo sound, have heard it a little before, but never like this. Midrange is insane, and u never need to really push the pedal down to get thing moving at insane speeds.
Now I did not do any logs or WOT, just getting over a broken ankle and can not press hard on the clutch, maybe in 2-3 weeks. But for now, woohoo |
