E93, possible USB retrofit?
Hi all. I have e93, 320d, 2008. No iDrive, BMW professional radio with bluetooth and without USB. Radio itself is without bluetooth as there is a module in the trunk, at least I believe it is for BT. Picture attached. Anyway, didn't manage to look further into it, just curious, if there are modules only for BT, or all of them have a option for USB? Thanks for any help until I look deeper into the trunk and find out.

Thanks for advice, but I'd like to keep it stock.
Just find out that this is MULF2 with only BT, no USB. So now question is, can I get proper MULF, just replace it, only wire USB and code it? Or there is some more of wiring required? Thanks. |

I assume your Mulf has the MOST fiber optic cable coming out the other side?
If it does it should be as simple as replacing the mulf you have with a mulf2 Hi with the usb function, getting the USB port and usb cable and coding the cars vehicle order to add the usb function and flashing the radio so it knows there is not a usb installed. It sounds like a lot but I just got done retrofitting a cic nav system into my car when all it had was the usb and I can tell you your project wouldn't be hard once you have all the parts |

Yes, there is a fiber going to the radio, I belive that is coming from MULF, as I removed a radio few days ago and noticed there is an active fiber (with light) coming form somewhere... If all the job is to replace MULF, pass a cable for USB and code it, it is a peace of a cake in that case.

The mulf2 is what controls the usb so it should be all you need unless there was a version of the professional radio that didn't allow usb to it but I've not seen one yet

Just one question more, will any MULF 2 High work or no?
I found those two, one from 2007, second one from 2009. Car is 2008 if matters. Thanks. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E60-E...cAAOSwpWRcpzRF https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E60-E...8AAOSwpcRcqdQR |
