Beautiful car. FYI - unless your current warranty is still active, this car can not be CPO'd

Yes, if the dealer bought it from me they could sell it as CPO for about $2,500. Just confirmed this. Or a aftermarket warranty could be purchased..

bmw can't certify a car unless the original warranty is active.

Not true according to my dealer. They would buy the car from me, certify it and sell it to a lucky buyer..I confirmed this with them today. Talked to the GM, the owner, and the sales manager. They all assured me this was the case.

Like I previously stated, my dealer would buy it from me, certify it and sell it to the new owner. I have verified this with them..Acually, purchasing an extended warranty would be better.

What is the point, the CPO is only active for 6 years from the date after the Original Warranty was activated OR the mileage hits 100K. The dealer says CPO but the only thing they will do before selling the car is washing it and topping off the windshield fluid before fleecing an unsuspecting buyer. The car will probably not come with a warranty.

This was verified BTW, let me know if you heard otherwise.

I don't understand what you are saying. If they CPO it it extends the warranty 2 years beyond the original factory warranty so on my car it would only be until August '10. Which is why I say it is better to buy an extended warranty that will start from the date it is purchased..

CPO has been misinterpreted buy the buying community for quite some time. All it means is that the wear and tear items (brakes, tires, etc.) don't require immediate attention. There is no guarantee that a CPO car will turn out to be better than a non-CPO.
