Yes you can with rewiring . . . but you'll lose the OEM xenon and adaptive capabilites.
No, I mean I've seen someone be able to retain their factory HID (but not adaptive) but I'm unsure of how they were able to do that.

They did not convert to halogen or an aftermarket HID solution.

Oem projectors are MUCH better than the aftermarket ones

I had an intermittent issue on one side only, turned out to be one of the wires in the harness that connects to the oem connector.

Had a knowledgeable friend help me so don't know too many details.
