Lmao that emotional state 0 to 100 real quick uh.

But I think you can lower your gong noises guys. Mine isn't that loud it's on the lowest. You either do it in iDrive or if you don't have iDrive I think you turn the volume knob down when the specefic noise you want to reduce is playing.

mine is at lowest level...the noise still gets me worked up everytime lol.

You know it's cold outside.. When you go outside, and it's cold. Thanks BMW for stating the obvious!

Yes but the summer in Florida is nasty humid, I thought we had bad humidity. That’s what I tell myself when it gets cold here but this year it’s been warm, about 5c which is warm for this time of year

Yup, black ice: been there, spun around on that, though with Quattro at the time. But I certainly can't complain about any warning after that experience, even if overly loud.

Because you can get freezing rain at 37. However, I thought I saw that you can code it out through Carly.

I am about to buy an E93 very soon, that's why I have recently joined the forum and currently going through different threads. But tbh, right now I am just sitting here, reading and realizing how afraid you are guys, that something might have happened with the car when the snowflake icon comes up (that fear tho). I know that BMWs are not the most reliable cars, but come on guys

It's because that gong is the only noise it makes when something goes wrong. So when you're just driving and the sound comes on you immediately think something is wrong lol makes you jump at first, same thing when the windshield washer fluid runs low, same noise and i still have the same reaction lol

Haha, yeah exactly, that was what I meant. I am also familiar with the snowflake gong and pretty much know what is to own a BMW, that's why I find it so funny. This is something, which Toyota owners for example are not familiar with and don't know that feeling

Don't be fooled, a lot of Japanese cars seem reliable because they don't indicate when things go wrong. Thermostat stuck open, they won't indicate that.

That's why you summer in Maine. Or at least that's why *I* do.

Yes, I know I am darned lucky to be a working snowbird at 49.

I have to be in ME/NH for work the second and third week of January. I will get to visit my e91, but I am pretty sure I will about freeze to death in the process at this point.

Keep in mind when the temperature drops below 42 degrees in CT they dump so much salt the roads are green/white and pre-treat all bridges, so people just assume they can speed no matter what temperature.

The light doesn't bother me, the annoying BMW gong is the devil.
yep... awesome in CT...

It snowed in Gainesville last winter. A dash of snow on the panhandle isn't THAT unusual, though snow south of Tampa very much is - that is about the tropical line where going below freezing is very, very unusual. It got down to 34F one night at my place in Port Charlotte (1.5hrs south of Tampa) last winter, but I was away for work that week. I have not turned the heat on in the two years I have been here though, other than to make sure it worked when I bought the place.

Sometimes there's so many gongs when i start my car that it almost sounds like the still D.R.E song from Dr. Dre and snoop lol

I really wish someone would figure out how to disable that garbage, yet keep the actual temperature displayed...

This morning was the first time my car was not in a garage on a cold morning. It was 24F and I got the 'low tire pressure' warning on all four, in addition to the snowflake. The tire pressure warning still hasn't gone away, even though it's above 40 now.
