WTB: E91 Unicorn Wagon
Folks, In addition to watching M_Dennis87's wagon thread, figured I would post this just to cover all bases. Who knows, maybe one of you future wagon sellers will read this, PM me, sell to me, and avoid the hassle of creating a full listing Dear Santa, this year I would like: E91 328i - any year but prefer '09-'12 6-speed manual - no budging on this Don't want xi/x-drive, but if everything else looks great I can live with it M-sport (a guy can dream) Car located somewhere west of the Mississippi The money is ready to go, just need the right touring car. And please please, whatever happens, don't let your wagon go to EAG to sit for 9 months with a $10K markup. Thanks for reading. Pete Last edited by pete9903; 12-05-2016 at 11:48 PM.. |

Some day I will sell mine, only 25K miles and no sport package, but a joy to drive.

Set up some searches in eBay, Autotrader, Cars.com, etc. with email notifications. That is how I found mine (and my son's, identical to mine and my VIN+1!).
Also, there is a thread for this: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1281264

This is the only one I know for sale and it is outrageously overpriced, by at least $5K:
http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...ink=true&Log=0 It's been for sale since November 10, so call and start negotiating.

The prices EAG is trying to extort for 6MT wagons are hilarious. You can do a 6MT swap using all factory parts for less than $3k in parts (used main parts). For my E91 I've already bought a used diff for $165 (have to change that too) and plan to find a low mileage used transmission over the coming few months. It's a straightforward swap (tranny, driveshaft, diff, shifter, pedals/clutch master).
For non-DIYers, find an experienced indy shop, and I'm guessing the labor fee won't be too bad. Locally here in Raleigh, Bimmer Performance Center has done E9x 6MT swaps (including 335d) and would be an excellent indy to work with. So if you find "that wagon", i.e. the right color, sport package, other desired options and, most importantly, the right condition, don't just pass on it because it's an auto.

Bluewater, definitely let me know if you decide to post yours. I have searches set up and check the E91 thread daily, there are a handful of others out there too but I can afford to wait and be a little picky.
I curse EAG daily, they really distort the market for the rest of us. Their wagon prices seem downright reasonable next to some of their E30s, LTWs, etc. |

LOL - Since EAG refuse to sell turbo BMW's they are going to be left with an ever shrinking slice of the market.

Make sure xDrive is what you want before you buy it. I didn't know it at the time when I was E91 hunting, but the front subframe is completely different, and the steering rack is located behind the axle centerline, and it is a 18.2:1 ratio vs 16:1 for non-x and 12.5:1 for the M3. I was more focused on not needing the extra weight and parasitic drag for awd I'd never need plus wanting the pure RWD experience in the E91. Unfortunately, there isn't a solution of just swapping racks since they are different designs, mounting, etc.

I just bought it. Heading to Utah to go pick it up.
2011 328Xi, 6 Speed Manual, Alpine White, Black interior, 80,000 Miles, CW, PDC, NAV, CA. I am buying this for resale. So if someone wants it the way it is ill sell it, unless someone wants me to do a full N55 Swap. |

Here she is. Only got to turn her over for a second. Dead battery. No compression from the split second I was able to turn her seems like she threw timing. No worries, if anyone is interested in it I can rebuild the motor ground up or do an n55 complete swap. And than the modding can start from there.
Will post pictures as soon as I can resize them |

You must be talking about that AW car on Manheim in Utah. Why not N54 ? It's a bolt in with a right donor car |
