Yes, I do, but thanks for the reminder! I'm actually one of the few that's decided to remain on stock springs.

If those Bilstein HD's are high pressure monotubes, ride height will be raised a bit over stock.

Huh, really? I was always told that springs determined ride height. I guess I heard wrong.

Of course they do, mostly, but in a high pressure monotube shock, there is an additional offset force due to the design that will raise the height 1/4-1/2 inch or so depending on suspension geometry and motion ratios. Basically piston rod cross sectional area (sq in) times internal gas pressure in PSI.

Would you recommend springs with these? I know they're meant for stock springs but if I got something like "i" springs would that be a modest enough drop so as not to damage the shocks?

Couldn't say I am not familiar with how OEM i springs behave on xi. I think eibach makes something like sportline springs that are not as much of a drop as pro kit.

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and new to any of these bmw mods....i wanted a new suspension though. I have a E90 328xi, no sports package. What would be recommended for my car? Any advice would be of great help. Had the car bone stock for 5 years and would really like to start modding it up a bit. Getting kinda bored

KW V1's are stainless steel and they are an extremely well known company. I just picked up a set used on here and i'm getting it installed this week so I should have some pics up sometime this weekend.

Haha yup. The guy who had them had 8k miles on them never driven in the snow. He had a FBO + ASR Turbo 335xi so the suspension was only used on the track. $775 shipped to me and they look brand new

As far as you know

Used coils sounds dangerous to me. So you bought coils that were tracked to death?

I wouldn't say tracked to death but tracked yea. I feel like its no different then having coilovers that were on my car for 8k and either selling them or continuing to use them... Mine would probably be worse too since they would be normal use in snow, salt, and rain. That's kinda how I think about all used stuff I get. Unless something's wrong and its broken its no different then the parts on my car right now. Plus it allowed me to save $700 from buying new coils

There's a biggg difference lol. I would never buy tracked coils. Whatever justifies saving money I suppose.

I guess. They look brand new to me and the two shops I brought them to both said I got a great deal on coilovers that look like they're barely used. As long as they look new and perform with no issues I could care less if they were tracked, driven through snow daily, had salt poured on them, etc... I'm just happy I picked up a set of good coils for almost half of what they cost new

How they look and how they handle on the road, after being stressed in a track environment is a big difference in itself. Shops will tell you what you want to hear, so you give them business and keep coming back. Trust me. If I were you I wouldn't install those.

That's true in most situations but not the shop I go to. He tells me whenever anything is wrong and mentions stuff he doesn't even have to mention. All the work is done by one guy and he's the one who owns the shop. He texts you with updates constantly and sends you pictures. For example last time my car was there for the fmic, dp's, and brakes he noticed that the car had been in an accident and the previous owner had the front bumper repaired. I never noticed it nor did the dealer I bought it from mention it. He had no need to say anything or let me know except that he felt its the right thing to do. He hates installing things on the car that he's going to have to re-do so always makes sure its done right the first time around.

Edit: Plus if all goes well I plan to track my car this summer so buying coilovers that were tracked really doesnt bother me.

Alright, well good luck. Just don't say I didn't tell you so. If you could have gotten them new and not used, tracked, ones I'm sure you would have. When people buy used and/or cheap parts they always tend to find the need to justify their purchase. My last advice is get rid of them while you can.
