Potential new owner of a 335d has a BT question
Greetings
I have spent hours poking around here and I'm still sort of lost, so let me try the cliff's notes of the car in question. Can I add a generic Parrot BT device to this car? I have one of my current 2007 XC70. The dealer is telling me they can retrofit some BMW nav system into this car for $600 and that it will have BT. 2010 335d, build date Feb. 9, 2010 Professional radio No MOST bus per dealer's tech guy No phone prep of any kind, also don't see anything on the BMW Model Archive when I run the VIN, although it does have "Multifunction f steering wheel" and "Preparation BMW satellite radio" I like the price, color/interior of this car and it has low miles, otherwise I'd skip the baloney and get one already set up. Thank you very much. I would really like to get my butt back into a BMW. My last one was an '87 M6 and everything since then has been "meh." Dave edit: I'm guessing that the option the dealer was talking about was the Dynavin D99. I guess I should research that edit 2: nope, it's a Garmin Last edited by Buzz Killington; 12-26-2013 at 09:53 AM.. |

You need to be more specific.

Dealers retrofitting non BMW stuff is kind of unusual. There are several ways of getting bluetooth phone. I take it this car does not have idrive/nav but has the normal radio. There is a version of the pro radio out now that has bluetooth, usb and hd radio built in. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=687463 If you have the crappy 2010 base stereo system you may want to do an aftermarket head unit or a entire system upgrade for sound quality. |

The bmw branded garmin sits just above your air vents. I have the bmw iphone dock that does the same thing. The mic quality is a bit problematic but its workable. Other options include retrofitting a newer BT HU For about $450 plus coding.

Anybody got a source for the Head Unit?
Anybody got a source for the Head Unit?
The guy that was selling them on ebay doesn't seem to have and add up anymore. Also he was selling the non most bus version for around 300 bucks. |
