So I got the coilovers on last weekend (big thanks to P 5UML for supplying these for a great price) and realised that I needed to max them out all round to get it to sit low enough. Kind-of disappointed with the max low of the fronts but what I forgot to consider is that the alignment and obviously the final wheel/tyre combo will have a big effect on arch gaps etc. So I'll re-adjust the exact ride height once I get the new wheels on.
A couple of quick phone snaps of how she is sitting on the stock MV3s: Archgap was a little bigger in the rear after adjustment but the alignment process (extra camber etc) changed it a huge amount and now the arch gap is bigger in the front :thumb down Might need to try and get the fronts lower somehow... Aaaaannnndddd.....regarding the wheels....the factory messed myself and my supplier around a little and told me that I can no longer have custom offsets (only my defined custom finish) and I'd be lucky to see them before mid-May. At this point I cancelled and decided to purchase a standard stock set of wheels that I think will look Ok for now. Nothing exactly special, but I'll work on something more serious next time. Here's a pic I posted on Instagram as a teaser (horrible quality, sorry): Fitting them this weekend if all goes well, and I'm booked in with a local shop for a modification that is being funded by the money freed up due to the downgrade in rims (man logic )

By the beard of Zeus. Can't wait to see this when you get the new wheels fitted! Am I right in saying that red e92 LCI's are hard to find? Never seem to see any for sale.

Ok so the wheels have been on as of last week, but I underestimated clearance/fitment issues as these tyres stretched a bit worse than I thought (not that I expected much from a 225 on an 8.5j rim lol). I promptly ordered slightly smaller spacers but they have still not arrived so I haven’t finalised fitment yet.
A friend of mine who is very good at detailing performed a paint enhancement detail on my car which took 1.5 days to complete and made a big improvement to the paint. After it was complete on the second day, another friend also came down in his car and we all rolled to a VAG meet that I used to attend in my Golf. During the day we also fit my M3 carbon spoiler and I bought some clean new plates with carbon lettering to match the spoiler. Oh and I tinted the fog lights with some tint spray to remove the focus from them. It came out pretty good. Here are some photos that a couple of friends took at the meet: NOTE: fitment is not finalised WEST END DUBS -APR 2014 by avibphotography, on Flickr WEST END DUBS -APR 2014 by avibphotography, on Flickr Az4 by Fat Bear Photography, on Flickr Az1 by Fat Bear Photography, on Flickr Az3 by Fat Bear Photography, on Flickr Az's BMW by Fat Bear Photography, on Flickr by Fat Bear Photography, on Flickr And here are a few iPhone snaps I took as I didn’t have my DSLR with me: Still to do: - Finalise fitment by adding spacers to fronts - Lower rear coils by about 5mm - Possibly reduce rear camber as it is currently -3* Rear is being beefed up by a modification that I’m very much looking forward to on Friday. If the weather is good, I’ll be attending a German car meet the same evening so will be able to get more good shots with that modification having been done (and hopefully finalised fitment if those damn spacers arrive already!) Lowering rear coils and doing an oil+filter change on Saturday

LOVE THE PICS BRO!
I am surprised you can't get the BCs low enough. When Gaza fitted his... his front and rear archs were tucking the rims!!! Very odd... I have not been a fan of the new Quantum rims tbh... BUT THEY LOOK FAB ON YOURS! I think its because you are the first with the silver finish and it looks fookin awesome on an LCI!!!!! Cant wait to see it on Fri!!! |

Thanks man, what kind of look are you going for?
Thanks bro, yeah I haven't rushed to change them yet because they suit the car, but I'll be working on doing something with them next week Thanks dude, fronts still to be spaced and rear to be lowered! Thanks Joseph Quote:
Yeah I always like to keep the paint looking good, no point in modding a car if the paint is trashy! Wet look FTW Quote:
Yeah I was 50/50 about the rims, but since the custom ones got delayed I took the plunge on these and am pretty happy with them Quote:
I appreciate that man, and the mods being done over the next few days will really get it looking right Thank you

So my spacers finally arrived and I fitted them on Saturday. I also finalised the ride height (NSR needed to be lowered 4mm) and serviced the car.
Also, on Friday I had a custom exhaust done by StyleDynamics who also supplied and fitted a Performance diffuser which we decided to paint satin black. The back box was removed and replaced with straight-pipes for weight saving and to unlock a tiny bit of sound (only audible under heavy throttle past 2.5k rpm). [ Pics on next page ] Just a couple of minor tweaks left before 'Phase 1' is complete. Will be doing a photoshoot when the weather clears up (it's cold and wet again )
