Does the I-drive play Dvd's

I was wondering if the 328i 08 plays dvd's. I have Nav, so i have the slot that says dvd, but i never tired to see if it would play a regular dvd. I am at work so i can't check it out, but you guys are normal really fast with answers here. So will my 08 328i play regular dvds

There is a plug in mod for 09's

no it does not...because the navi is dvd based. however the 09 navi does since it's hard drive based and frees up the dvd drive

The mod is only needed if you want to watch a DVD while moving. It'll play a DVD from the factory in park.

No, your car is a year too old for this. You have two slot, one CD and the other DVD. The DVD is the navigation system but if you wish to forego that capability you can play a disc of MP3 files through the DVD drive.

On the 09 the DVD drive is the same as the CD drive; they're in the same slot.

i wish it played dvds. there is always the advantage and disadvantage of having the 08 model

I have heard there was some kit or some way you could get it to play DVD's? I saw this thread a long time ago. Any truth to this? Any way to get it to play an actual DVD? Even if it was just in park it would be sweet.
