Normal TC behaviour? video inside

So this is me trying to catch on video what is my issue with the car. I decel without throttle than i put around 30-40% throttle straight away. The Torque Converter obviously goes into semilockup jumping to around 2.5k rpm then distributes the power slowly. Feels very weak and also the video doesnt do the real sound any justice as the sounds was very unhealthy indeed.

My TC is a new original one with around 4k miles on it. Opinions?

Does it go away after you've been driving awhile. Mine does the same thing when the transmission fluid is still cold.

When the trans fluid is cold it will not lock the tc to help warm up the trans.
Does this persist after 15-20 mins of driving?

this is after 20 mins on the highway.. i know the TC is different for couple of minutes in the morning when the revs dont really match up with the speed even on steady pedal.. then it evens out, i think thats what you guys mean?

Anyone has any idea if there are more stages of the the warmup? Or where i could find this info? Ill monitor my trans temperatures tomorrow when going from work

There might be a delay based on temperature, but it seems when it shifts in your video it stays locked. It could also be due to a hill if you were on one which makes shifting different compared to flat.

By the sound unhealthy, what do you mean? Isn't that just engine sound, or did you hear whining or feel vibration? How can you tell it was transmission sound?

yes when switching to higher gears it stays locked.. its also not so bad when little throttle is applied. i was on flat ground.

the sound could be engine for sure, im not sure id be able to recognize TC sound specificaly. But the sound is very high pitched kinda and a little bubbly, not sure i can describe it correctly. but maybe thats normal for a sound of engine thats not locked to transmission completely, i dont know but it didnt sound good.

i also logged data during this so will try to analyze

So interestingly iv monitored transmission oil temperature on my way from work.

After 20 minutes of drive it only got to 50C (120F) and after 30 minutes to around 60C (140F).

Now im not sure if it would slowly keep moving up or not but that seems very low to me. I thought operating temp would be around 100C? ( 210F)

I suppose there has to be a third thermostat which is rarely talked about?
On the other hand, i find it hard to believe my "issues" could be caused by fluid being 60C ...

Operating temp of 50-60C is good. The thermostat on the bottom of radiator opens to cool down the trans if hot, not to heat it up.

oh no i didnt think it opens to heat it up, i just meant it could be stuck opened but i assumed operating temperature to be 90-100. If you say 50-60 is ok then thats fine

For ZF 6HP26 normal oil operating temperature is between 30–120C°
Prior to 30C° the transmission has a warm up strategy and above 120C° the transmission will enter the high temperature strategy.

Given the ambient temperatures I would expect that 50-60C° is excellent.
