It's like as soon as I delete all of this crap, BMW decides to cover it. If you have already done the repair(and even if you haven't) BMW has a reimbursement program. Just put your vine into the below website and it'll give you options.

I received the NOx letter today, too. I submitted the SCR and the NOx repairs at the same time a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully I'll see check(s) for both. Glad I didn't do the alphabet delete.

Hey Matt, did you submit for the SCR metering valve too? I'm curious if they are going to cover that along with the tank.

I submitted both at the same time, because the NOx sensors went bad within a week of the SCR replacement. I figured I didn't have a lot to lose by submitting both on June 6th. Today's letter may mean I'm head of the curve.

I was only in the early stages of trying to diagnose mine and only had the metering valve replaced by an indy so far. The BMW Paperwork doesn't explicitly mention the metering valve, but I might submit and see.

Yep, I got my letter today as well. I was thinking of selling my car since I bought an Accord recently, but decided to keep it after receiving these letters from BMW. I barely have 87k miles so I figure I'm good for a while.

Yeah, with this exhaust system NOx Sensor warranty extension today added to last month's SCR Active Tank one, I have to ask what compelled them to do that, and what other components might be included in the future?

I just officially submitted the paperwork under the NOx header/web link. Better to do it by their guidelines to make sure I get the reimbursement. And if they pay me twice.......

Hello,

Have had the above issues since 90K, was able to sort them out, but now at 122K,

Back in Oct 2016, I wrote to BMW with the question as why the X5d did receive recall/campaign/SIB for the similar components. While the 335d did not. Received a reply and a call, and then fell into the corporate world 'outer space', and no reply.

My guess, some internal monitoring on their end, and continued research by agencies EPA/ARB into diesel emissions issues. (ie VWAG Dieselgate, FCA RAM Diesel, etc) They were running short on 'wiggle room'

May have to renew contact with BMW NA. Interacting with dealer was non-productive. BMW NA simple answer now may be - you are over 120K, thanks for calling, or they will take into account the dates and documented mileage when issues happened. How to play the cards at hand?

Luckily I've been able to deal with all issues with the help of forum information.

Reimbursement on the SCR. I'm glad I decided to send in the info for the NOx today. Yes, elements redacted.

You can always ask. They might say yes.

I called the reimbursement center today to inquire if the SCR metering valve was included in the warranty as a part of the SCR active tank extended limited warranty and the person I spoke with said NO.

I explained how the diagnosis path is to first start with the metering valve before jumping in to the more expensive items like the tank and NOX sensors, so even though the valve might not have been the culprit it might have been replaced attempting to diagnose these items that have extended warranties.

She didn't seem interested in my logic though.

Any idea if this covers the code 4d16 scr system efficiency / p20ee code? Pending for now.
It comes on and off, so the code is stored. 2 weeks ago, I had been waiting for readiness for the scr to pass and it did, only for a few minutes later the cel p20ee / 4d16 Came up...argh I cleared it because I have to pass inspection this month!

I don't get nox sensor code but I read that replacing nox sensors fix it?

Does their reimbursement cover work done by your self (part costs, no labor) or an Indy shop doing it? I ask because the local bmw dealership always has a long wait and I need to pass inspection by the end of the month!

What also worries me about using the dealer is that on the bmw-rp site my vin for my 2011 35d doesn't show the nox recall yet: http://www.bmw-rp.com/production/isg...bmw_portal.nsf

Rob,

If all other monitors set, you should be OK. You are allowed 1 monitor to be in "not ready" state and still pass NY inspection. Hopefully this get sorted for you quickly.

The problem is that past month I had that, scr,nox just passing for it to give me a cel a few mins later... Totally pissed me off because the cel happened right after readiness became ok. Bad programming that can't cope with small variances and it annoyingly takes forever to get readiness again after clearing that cel. Cel-in instant fail at inspection even if readiness ok

I had NOX and FRM done under CPO, does that mean I can submit for my $50 deductibles??

I will submit and see what happens.

Odd, still not showing for my VIN. All I see are the Driveshaft, Footwell, Scr mixer, and Scr active tank on bmw-rp.com
x5 2011 mfr in 09/2010.

Took my car in for the airbag recall yesterday, and told them the thermo sensor on the DEF tank was also malfunctioning.

Picked it up today with a new airbag and new DEF tank installed.
