Is logic 7 worth it?

Hi Guys,
I have an E92 i have just finished retrofitting CIC and Combox to, i have been offered a logic 7 retrofit for £550 which seems a fair price but is it really worth it? I wouldn't call myself an audiophile by any stretch of the imagination but my base spec sound system is quite poor.
Looks to be quite an involved retrofit, has anyone done it before? any DIY's? was it worth the ££?
Thanks
Adam

I don't have it, but I think my sound is really good in my E92, I cant see what the complaint would be. I had a C55 AMG before that was supposed to have harmon kardon sound and it was rubbish, the BMW is far better.

I have it in mine and its really good, I notice it more when I get in a car without it. The shipping forecast never sounded so good.

I have Logic 7 in mine and love it. When others sit in the car who have BMWs without Logic 7 they always mention how good it sounds.

Logic 7 is miles or kilometers better than standard. Sound staging is improved massively and has a lot more sound fill due to the rear speakers.

If you can do a cic retrofit you can do a logic 7. I did it on my dads M3 and used the MOST cabling that was pre-wired for the cd changer. You'll have to figure out your current MOST loop and simply re-pin the unused cd changer cabling into the loop.

Of course you'll need a pigtail for the amp, and splice the speaker wiring in

Coding is simple, add the correct vo and code cic to top hifi for logic 7

The standard E90 audio is is really poor quality..does not even come with tweeters.
The next upgrade is the Hi-Fi which is half decent.
The next upgrade is Logic 7.
And the daddy of all the individual.

The logic 7 will be a huge improvement over the standard audio.

But my only concern would be E90 have been around 12 years so how do you know the age of that set being fitted.

If that amp dies next week its not a cheap replacement.

Why not just get specific aftermarket speaker sets made by a reputable brand such as Focal or Audison? I think they are a much better bet than any of the ones that BMW have to offer. Put in a decent 6 channel amp like the JL audio 6 channel and you should be good to go.

costs too much if your going install the same amount of speakers

focals are around £250 a pair (Focal es100k)

you need

2 component sets
3 coaxial speakers
2 under seat subs

then an amp.

That maybe the case. But you are buying new components rather than second hand ones and in the case of the aftermarket units, you will normally be going for a reputable brand known for audio quality. Granted, you are buying second hand with the individual set, but then what brand is the individual setup and how much would they be brand new and how do they stack up against the aftermarket equivalent? What sort of power is the amplifier pushing to the individual components per channel? Just my thoughts. 😀
