Dash rattle / chirping fix (one cause)

Had an annoying dash rattle especially in low temps, and mainly when revs where close to idle rpm. Drove me insane - checked all "known" spots that are documented on this and other forums, but no luck. Finally found the culprit.

A while ago I change the OEM plastic charge pipe with a aluminum one. That assembly is much stiffer than the original one, and also the diverter valve (front) touches the left strut tower. This is the spot that actually drives that sound in the cabin whenever the diverter valve touches the strut tower when idling (vibration). My fix was some self adhesive rubber on the strut tower where the diverter valve touches it, covered by felt tape, and felt tape around the diverter valve. Dash rattle gone bye bye.
Come spring, I will check see if I can twist a few mm the alu charge pipe.

This is just a heads up for people that have an annoying dash rattle after changing the OEM plastic charge pipe with aftermarket aluminum one.
