E93 Trunk emblem has been completely removed

Hi there!

I have a quick question regarding the E93's rear trunk, namely I have negotiated a deal with my friend to buy his 325i convertible but previously someone managed to completely debadge the rear trunk's BMW emblem and now it is completely clean without any badges or anything. However, I would like to put on the BMW logo as it is on each BMW but the place where logo should be inserted in is completely "deleted" and there are no empty holes or anything where I coud potentially insert the logo.

I was wondering that is there any other solution than completely getting a new rear trunk door in order to put on the BMW's logo?

Has anyone did or fixed something like this?

What I mean is the following:

Thanks!

The emblem is coded to the DME, you'll have to replace that and the CAS module as well.

That badge does nothing on my 2011 e92. What the hell would be coded? It's not even electric.

LOL. This is probably not far off sadly...

there are many solutions that will not required to put a new trunk there lol

https://www.amazon.ca/Emblem-Logo-Re...19412185&psc=1

you can drill a hole and mounted. Or you could just delete the taps and use double sided tape to hold it there

Solution one is more permanent , solution 2 will hold there but it also depends on how good of a job you do prepping the surface

The link to pic didn't work. So you are saying the previous owner removed the Roundel and filled in the badge recess and repainted the deck lid? If so, just get the original badge from BMW, cut the studs off, and attach it with automotive grade double sided tape.

In that pic, you can still see the outline where the roundel used to be - you could always measure the length from the bottom of the roundel to the two pins on the back, carefully redrill the holes for it in the boot lid, seal it with an anti-rust coating, and mount the new roundel.

Thanks for the helpful answers!

So basically the best choice is to measure the exact position of the drill holes where it should be and drill it, fill it with that rubber mount where the pins should be inserted and insert the logo to the holes and before that just seal it with anti-rust?

Personally I like the debadged look. I don't think it is as simple as redrilling the holes. While the drawing may not be accurate in realOEM.com, the trunk lid seems to have a large rectangular opening behind the Roundel. If it was my car, I'd just buy a new roundel, remove the two studs, and double-sided tape it to the trunk lid. From the pics I've seen of the new Roundel for the E93 (it's unique to the convertible) it looks like the Roundel has black foam double tape as part of the badge.

No way would I redrill the holes.

You're making this way harder than it needs to be... Buy a new badge, cut off the posts and stick it where it needs to be with double sided tape. Double sided tape is already used from the factory, the holes and posts just make it so it can't be placed in the wrong spot/crooked.

Thank you for the answers! I think I will stick to what most of you recommended mainly using the double sided adhesive. However one more question, where could I check preferably on the internet the exact parameters and alignment of the emblem on the trunk lid?

The M3 in your link is clean and well done. The roundel is mounted with two pins on the back of the roundel, perhaps double sided tape is better than drilling two holes but I like the debugged look.
