Maps are not interchangeable. With CIC Head Unit you can ONLY run PREMIUM Map, no other.

Ok Thanks. I don't have much time to look at these sites. One day after asking you, I downloaded the next 2022 map and tried to update the navigation but it didn't work. You were right.

BMW usually releases map updates in the last quarter of the year. Expect it some time within the next 2 months.

Hello to everyone. I heard that "Premium Europe 2022" map has been released. Is it true? If true, is there east and west separately or is there just one map? Does anyone have information

It's no problem for me at all, although its likely a problem for anyone who can benefit from your post.

Using your analogy, I'd agree if the Thread topic was generically "Apples", but since Thread Topic is specific to "Red Apple", posting about a "Yellow Apple" might just as well be about a "Pear"

I am just trying to help you find an audience for your post. Someone searching for Europe PREMIUM 2022 Maps, will not be searching here in this thread tilted "Road Map North America PREMIUM (USB) 2021".

Ok. To be clear, I hadn't paid any attention to the topic before posting. I later realized it is the North America Premium Map. But it doesn't matter whether my post reaches a large number of people. Anyone looking for a map of Europe Premium can find this post one way or another. Thank you for your attention and sensitivity.

Thank you. It works perfectly. I had to wait like a full day for the download of mega to go through. They kept cutting it off every 5Gb.
I also kept having a bunch of problems with my USB stick not wanting to work properly with the transfer. It got to like 88% and it kept getting stuck that it wasn’t able to read. I tried another USB stick and finally that went through.

Folks - are any of you having trouble unpacking these files? I have downloaded via the Mega link twice - both times WinRAR has given me errors saying the file is corrupt with multiple tries to unpack giving me the same errors. Not sure if it's something on my end...

Any insights? I've spent two days of downloading...

Have you checked the MD5 checksum on the file(s) you downloaded? I get that same MD5 checksum for the zip file I got, and that unzipped & applied OK for me.

Requirements

32GB Flash Drive formatted as FAT32

Update Steps

Download file with a torrent program or from Mega
Unzip contents.
Copy pkgdb and config.nfm to the USB drive.
Turn your car on and wait 30 seconds after the nav system fully boots up.
Plug USB drive into the glovebox USB port of your car - the center console USB port will not work.
iDrive will eventually ask if you want to update your map. Click Yes.
Enter FSC code, if needed.
You can drive your car normally during the update. The update will continue where it left off last when you turn your car back on.

Given that the 2022 maps are out for all other nav systems, I wonder if this isn’t the end of the line for the CIC. Shame, given they were selling it up until the E89 ended production in 2016...
