Found out that I was wrong about a good portion of the injection timing stuff... sorta.

The concept remains the same, but there are multiple injection events. I don't know why I didn't think about this, since diesels have been doing this for quite some time.

I was able to force to single injection event. Seems to be helping my use case, since I run very high rail pressures under low load and very slightly ramp up for high load.

Still working. I have XML definitions right now (for use in ECUEdit) since TunerPro doesn't support over 255 categories (at least that I've seen). Will translate, group properly, and post as XDFs and XMLs for cross compatibility.... If it's not a pain in the dickhole.

I found the "cylinder blanking" and "injection pattern for sound" tables in my definition. Tested these today. Trying to find out what associates with what. I was able to successfully change the sound from the sport shifting to a very distinctively different sound.

This opens up great promise to tailor the desired sounds on normal shifting, sport shifting, rev limit, overrun, "burble" (to change it from a stupid sounding gunshot noise), and everything in between.

Gonna post up a video that might be able to shed some light on how much different my car sounds now that I was able to choose what cylinders to blank, which to overrun on, and how tailored they sound can be. It's glorious. No more AK-47 esque after sharts and now there's beautiful noises.

I need to get my hands on an n55 platform vehicle with a standard transmission. Anyone in the Houston area with such a vehicle willing to donate with discount? 😂

The stuff I've done for my platform has transformed it, but I even feel like each HW rev is going to take an equivalent amount of work to get right.

Plus, at the end of the day I'd rather be working on a 400awhp fun car than a 400AWHP grocery getter. All custom tuning for my current vehicle revolves around "how much gas can I save" then "how comfortable does it drive" THEN "how much ass can I haul"

I spent some time this weekend and managed to identify the missing exhaust tables for the 9E60B ECU.

TMOTAKR -"Temperature threshold for engine temperature-dependent exhaust flap control"
TVSTAKR - "Delay time for exhaust flap control after start"
VMINAKR - "Minimum vehicle speed for pulse output"

I set TVSTAKR and VMINAKR to 0 and now my Exhaust Valve is closed at all times unless I am in Sports mode

What tool or app do you use to "look" at the bin file? I'd be interested in finding the same for the 98 DME. I use TunerPro to look at BINs, but that's based on a XDF file.

Hey JPuehl, I am using WinOLS. Anjuna and I got access to a bunch of BMW Damos files, PM me if you would like a copy.

We're hoping to work with the community to flesh out all the tables for our ECUs.

My car is a 2013 so I am working on filling out the 9E60B XDF. Currently it has 426 Tables while the public one has 334.

For us on the newer E-Series MEVD1726 ECU. I don't have the Damos for that exact version. However, with enough coffee and many late 2am nights, one can map out most of the tables from the existing Damos files.

Below is an example of how I found the exhaust valve tables:

Haha, I have spent more time in WinOLS over the paste week than I have driven in the past few months...

I have been focusing on transposing more Tables from the M2/M4 to the 9E60B XDF, with the hopes to make it feel more like a M2/M4

I was able to find 8 more Throttle tables:
Pedal Sport+ (take off) AT
Pedal Sport+ AT
Pedal Sport+ (take off)
Pedal Sport+
Throttle valve setpoint map
Throttle valve setpoint map2
Throttle valve setpoint map at Comfort Start
Throttle recovery after major TC

I have copied the settings from the 8 Pedal Tables (Pedal comfort/sport/sport+) from the M2 and am now using those instead of MHDs linear throttle options.

My plan is to keep going, and copy over as many settings from the M2 as possible. I will continue with the throttle/responsiveness then move to the Sound/Exhaust.

Yep. Same here. Been finding room for an occasional mental break mid day = test a tune change.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I've been trying to learn with help from a friend, but am battling post-shift boost spike (DCT E-series). I'm playing around and adapting a little from your examples and seeing what it does. My assumption is that PID will resolve the shift spike, once I get the right values in there.

There are some tables for diverted valve based on RPM.

@Anon1 should we release some of our resources for others to consume?

What's odd, is it looks like WGDC does a quick spike at shift causing the boost spike. That's why I presumed it was a PID issue, but then again, running commanded WGDC had the same issue. I'm sure this is a simple fix based on the thousands of PWG PS2s out there.

You underestimate the complexity of the issue.

Not many people are digging as deep as we are, nor are they taking the time to understand and develop solutions to what other tuners believe are "non-issues"

E-tuners pump and dump. They use tools available to them to make power, collect a payment, and call it a day.

Before the resources were made available, I was tuning, making power, and doing smaller stuff like REAL VANOS and valvetronic changes....

Now we are on the same level as bosch/BMW

I've ended up here after some digging, I also have a 2013 135i with MEVD1726

I'm an IT engineer so fairly handy on the tools, before OBD2 unlock was available I managed to bench flash my 2012 123D.

How do I help, I'm interested in these features and the xdf!

I don't know much about tuning itself though, still learning!

We have the BMW DAMOS for these

they're confusing to navigate. Today is the weekend. Feels like day 147 of quarantine. I'll re-trace my steps to export these as XDF and XML.

It's challenging because they don't use the hardware codes that we are used to in MHD, but I'll put them out there so that we can pick/choose and make a table that associates these all together.

I'll be reaching out to a few of you individually to help.

Thanks!

If there was something specific you were looking to try out on a manual car, I'd be willing to try it on mine? Not sure how helpful that will be, but it's an option

Been away due to COV19.

Full time work from home, taking care of my son full time, and balancing taking care of family (parents and 93yo grandmother) has put this on hiatus for me.

When all of this blows over, we will be back full tilt.

Sorry for now, but thank you for your patience.

Thanks for the contributions guys. I'm coming from the MSD80 realm and have defined many definitions that weren't available previously and would like to help with the MEVD group as I now have a car I can perform tests with.

What damos files are you guys using for MEVD17.2.6(G)? I only have the S55 damos right now and no funktionsrahmen so it'll be a little tricky for me. anjuna I know you've been busy, but have you had time to look for any fuel cut tables so far?

I was able to map over the exhaust AKR tables from the PWG1 XDF to 98G0B, but cannot find the single value ones you list above (no pattern to go by). Do you know the addresses in the E-series N55 DME?
