Argh - this is painful!. I haven't heard back about my free trial yet either - maybe it's not going to happen.
I'm now finding myself ordering random accessories for a car I don't even have... the wait is getting spendy |

Haha. Yeah, I've been picking out car detailing products online. I've owned a Touareg for four years and never once considered using clay or sealant. Somehow I just care now . . .
Dean is now a hurricane. I'm sure W&W knows what it's doing. Here's the latest projected track. Can't wait until we get through the Panama Canal and things are assured!

what accessories or anything that you've bought for your car. I need some suggestions since the wait is so long. I was thinking getting some black emblems since I'm getting a white car. the black will really come out . and I just talked to one of the forum members about a seibon OEM carbon fiber hood

Look at my car info underneath to see what I've ordered already, plus not listed are all the light upgrades (Angel eyes, fogs, xenons, cornering),plus on the list for the riss racing downpipes, also in the GB for slotted/xdrilled rotors. And some other things I cant think of. If UPS shows up here 1 more time while my wife is here before I get home, I will be in divorce court, lol. Here is the trick to buying all these mods and having them show up at the house and still having your wife be okay with it. Our anniversery is Sept 1st, so for a present we are leaving Sept 15th for 3 weeks in Italy( and dont tell her but I got her the diamond tennis bracelet she has been wanting). So right now she is going nuts at the amount I am spending in mods, but she will be very happy on the 1st when I give her the bracelet, and then the Italy trip.

So far:
- I ordered some Style 230 rims this morning - I'm ordering some Goodyear Eagle F1s to go on the new rims tomorrow - My parents (from the UK) are bringing over a rear-fog light-switch with them in a couple of weeks time - I'm part of the Seattle group-buy for tinting and clear-bra - I ordered the paint-matched side-marker delete kit from **********s ....that will (hopefully) do me for now! Stanford335 - What detailing products did you discover you needed? E92_TT - Not sure about the hood, but the black emblems would look great... |

BTW - Just checked the Port of Hueneme website (did I spell that right?)
Anyway, they've updated their schedule today - and we're still down for 8/27 and 8/28 http://www.portofhueneme.org/documen...0816163647.pdf |

The Port of Hueneme schedule got me thinking . . . if Hueneme thinks Tagus is arriving a few days early, I wonder about the Port of Tacoma, the ship's destination after Hueneme. Well, lo and behold, Tacoma thinks the ship is getting in earlier too. Check it out:
http://www.portoftacoma.com/vesselli...TOKEN=83325418 So, either W&W's schedule is really conservative and our ship is actually on time, or perhaps they haven't told the ports that the ship is late. Who knows. This needs to stop being an obsession! WRT detailing supplies, I've just read what's on the board and done some shopping online. I haven't actually ordered anything yet because I'm working on the East Coast for the summer and don't want to lug all of the supplies back to California with me. Bobby - I was under the impression all of the "light upgrades" you mentioned actually come standard with 335. Is that not true? Damn - might need to expand my shopping.

Stanford, they do come standard on the coupes but, they have a dull yellowish look, all these upgrades get the look much brighter to match the xenon upgrade. The xenons that come on our cars stock are 4300k, so they are nice but more of a whitish yellow tinge, they dont give off that really bright whitish/blue that you see on other high end cars. By going to a D1S 6000k bulb you get that awesome xenon bright white/tinge of blue look. and it's all just replacing the existing bulbs, PNP mod, no cutting, soldering nothing. The standard that people are doing is GP Thunder 8500k for the angels & fogs in Plasma White (or Super White if you use MTEC instead of GP), they are both H8 35w bulbs so 2 sets of two and same thing in an H3 55w for the cornering lights, just need 1 set of 2 for them . The xenon is McCulloch or any of the top main companies of your choice just get D1S 6000k. I tend to look for Piaa lights as I have used them for years with great results, although they tend to cost a bit more.

Bobby - thanks for the thorough explanation! I'm checking into those lights now. I especially like the idea of blue/white tint of the xenons.
BTW, checked with another thread about locating Tagus on AISLive. One of the members there looked for me and can't find the boat. Apparently AISLive can't find boats in the open ocean. I guess we'll just keep our fingers crossed.

I think that AIS only works within 50 miles of land (it's a short-distance radio-based thing).
Let's hope the captain felt bad about the delay, put on some serious speed, and is through the storm and waiting for the canal <G> (Original ETA at the canal was Sunday I think, so maybe Mon or Tue we'll find out....) Bobby - Are you changing the main xenon bulbs too? I thought those were scary expensive, and the usual changes were the bulb for the angels and the fogs? Post links of what we should order (BTW - Seriously cool wheels, Bobby....) |

Please let our ship be safely past any trouble, I already have an enclosed trailer from one of my friends setup to take the car from my dealer down to the bay area to get the whole front end done in clear bra. I fiqure better to trailer it down, seeing as I'm almost 6 hours north of San Fran and no way you could drive it that far without getting some chips on it. Would defeat the purpose of getting the clear bra done. Dont know if I mention it but if your interested in a clear bra check out the work and the cars that the place I'm going to does. www.premiermobilegroup.com . Click on the gallery tab and choose between the lambos, maseratis, ferrari, bmw etc, etc. Incredible work and no seams. |

Still no canal news :(
"e_ticket" helpfully posted this image on the EQUULEUS LEADER thread.
It shows that we're still not booked in at the canal (unlike E LEADER). This was taken from http://boydsteamship.com/traffic_&_booking_slots.htm and, at the moment, shows us arriving on the 22nd with passage tentatively scheduled for the 27th. I'm hoping that changes for the better when TAGUS confirms her booking. Also there's reduced capacity on the canal at the moment, until the 24th, due to maintenance on the locks. Ahh - just saw an updated schedule on the W&W website. I kind of feel like I did when I sat in the Charleston, WV airport for three hours last night when my flight was delayed! In any case, at least Dean is out of the way now. BTW, nice find agalbraith.

Just saw Boyd's Steamship Corporation updated their Panama Canal booking schedule. Looks like we moved up a couple of days. Tagus apparently still not booked, but estimated on the 24th.

The more concerning thing is 1000+ cars arriving on EQUULEUS LEADER 24 hours or so earlier.
We're probably looking at dealer ETA around 9/8 or 9/10 now Last edited by alistair; 08-20-2007 at 04:50 PM.. Reason: typo |
