Hi all,

I currently have an E46 and will have my E92 from ED soon. I have a set of 17x8.5 Kosei K1 for Autocross and occasional track days. I believe they all have 40mm offset. Does anyone run them on E92?

I don't plan to do much modification on the E92 except hammer out the alignment pin and get a tiny little bit of camber.

I have been autox'ing for 2 years and I plan to stay with street tires for one more year. Is it possible to fit wider tires up front? may be 255x40x17 on these K1s?

I loved the K1's at VIR. You can fit 255's but they're very tight. I used 235's and was happy.

If you get into DE events at track (not autoX), I'd recommend throwing some money at upgrading rotors / brake pads. I toasted mine over a 3 day weekend. The rotors are all grooved up and ruined. Brakes faded terribly when hot. I'll be putting the new PowerSlot cryo rotors on as soon as available, and I've already ordered the Hawk HP+ pads for the front. Will get rear as soon as avail.

I agree the stock pads get overheated if you're driving hard. A novice or intermediate should be fine, imo.

Hmm, what was the result of your grooved rotors? I ran my original rotors for 20k miles, of which probably 2000 of those miles were on track. That's 20 events with a set of R4 pads and a set of the stock pads, obviously. They looked like hell but still stopped the car.

Started to grind, but that noise is minor compared to my camber plate rattle/clunk, lol.

Oh and I think the 255's are juuust fine. In fact, I run about 190 degree tire temps (probe pyrometer readings) which I think is juuuust right.

Much hotter and the tires start getting quite greasy.

Ill be hoping to get a set of K1s with Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec in 255 form. After I burn though my current set of PS2s on the stock wheels, and then those... Ill finally get some R compounds. I think this may take awhile!

Thanks folks. I'm still rolling on my ZHP and I just finished one autox event over th e weekend. Yes. Now I pay attention. I think the front is tight with 245. May be it is just my RT615 that is fatter.

I hope there are a few more mm room on the E92 for 255.

With Kosei K1, I have been running 255s for 6 months now (track only).

The only issue I see is that if you lower the car to hell, it may rub the spring adjustment collar.

The RT615's 245 sectional width is 9.8inches. The Victoracer 255 sectional width is 10.6 inches. Even with that extra 0.8 inches, I'm still fine on my E92.

In 17"? There is a good deal for K1s in a name store!
