Spot on with the heat gun. Another good trick while cleaning with an APC is to throw a soaked rag in the microwave. The heat will help make the leather super pliable. Follow up as needed with the heat gun.

Glad to see they came in!

I'm trying to figure out if I swap the DCT console trim now, using my retrofitted DCT F3x shifter, will I have enough room to throw in in sport mode with that small of a plate opening? I'd hate to get it and realize I don't have enough room to shift it to the side

Question, I got headlight 1 of 2 today. It was a salvage find (250 for hi -gloss folding auto dim) so I expected some work and repainting the cover was needed anyways. Is the auto dim glass suppose to be like this? Almost looks rusty? Got sticker shock looking at the glass replacement cost FML

That's not how it's supposed be, it looks oxidized which isn't common on E9X glass at all.. Weird. However, you can get good European spec (it's got an outer edge thats convex) blind spot-eliminating glass. They're on eBay quite often.

I've been trying to find something on eBay but it seems most Glass is for E9x non M, not for the wing mirrors even thought it says so.

I'll do some deeper searching tonight

Hmmm, you're right. Try finding their part numbers off realOEM and searching eBay.de or something. A lot of times you can find cool Euro parts over there without the hefty premium they'd normally carry by a US seller.

Aren't 666M only made in 20s?

So looking at replacing mirrors now, I thought I had auto dim in my LCI mirrors but they are only heat, dip (right side) and fold. I probably don't have the existing pin out to even program the auto dim feature do it? If not, then I'll replace the mirrors with the cheaper blue glass, however ECS says for vehicle without power fold. Will this glass not work with the mirrors? It's just a simple snap in, nothing other than the plug for heating right?

Also, do both mirrors dip in reverse on these or only passenger side like non M, just curious.

250 for the pair of mirrors?? That’s a steal!!!! Nice find. I’ve been hunting as well can’t find any under 450 each!!! Keep us posted on that upgrade I’m very interested in it.

It really boggles my mind how some places actually grow and keep a business based on referrals with work like this. These guys came highly recommended for paint on my calipers. They had to have just sprayed with zero prep. Now I need to figure out if I trust someone else to fix this and repaint or just do it myself. I swear you really can't trust people to do a good job anymore

Bummer! For things like this go to your nearest well-regarded racing shop.

Of course, it's not cheap.

So, I sanded the calipers down. Amazing how easy everything came off even though the guy said it was as clean as they were going to get. Now the question is: do I repaint or pull the pistons out and powdercoat? Tbh, maybe they used the wrong paint, but the Phoenix Yellow 455 looked way more green than I thought it would. I already bought powder when I originally planned this all out and got as close as I could to what I thought the performance yellow 4 pot bembos were. See photo. Should I just go ahead and get the PCd or just paint?

I just took them without paying, F them. Only thing I'm out is the 10 bucks for the //M stickers and time. I just really need to figure out next steps so I can get my brakes swapped and summer wheels back on.

Phew, that's good. Finding quality paintshops can be a nightmare. I'm fortunate I have a good relationship with arguably the best one in Canada and their work is 10/10, every single time and has been for over a decade.

Hopefully you can find a better shop to fix this.

The only way you'll get good results and long term adhesion is with full disassembly of the calipers, soap and water wash, media blasting, and repaint/coating. The most durable coatings require baking to cure as well

I think the only thing left to purchase at this point for phase one is spacers. Not sure how to even measure or determine the size I need? Running the M359 19x9 et 35 up front and the 19x10 et 38 in the rear. I know NYBulldog ran 18 mm up front with 19x9 et31 so I'm thinking 18 up front for sure. The rears I'm not sure about. His was 19x10 Et25 and had 15mm, the rear quarters are also flared more so I'm thinking maybe 12mm for now?

Something is amiss. The 9" M359 has an offset of ET31, and the 10" is ET25. If yours have the offsets you're quoting, then they are not M359.
