MHD Stage 2+ tune reaction/thoughts?
So I recently completed a ton of maintenance to my car including, spark plugs (gapped to 0.022), coils, intake cleaning, various gaskets, and then flashed the car to stage 2. I was FBO already on the stock map.
I'm not really impressed. The launch controller is great and drivability is wonderful but I guess I was expecting more power. Anyone else feel same way with an OTS stage 2 tune? The power band is COMPLETELY different and feels more up top. I liked the hard hit in the low/mid range but maybe my butt dyno is off Zero issues or misfires just seeing what other people's experience has been. Just looking for opinions on the MHD tune. Not hating on the company. I will do some logs and compare my graphs others posted in the forums. Maybe I should buy another motorcycle? Those are real fast.

Which Map version did you flash? I`m going to guess at V9.
Try V7 maps, they have more low end vroom vroom. Fyi, I noticed a massive difference going form stage 1 to 2+ |

Stage 2 is recommended for those with downpipes only, Which octane map were you running? Logs? You'll feel the biggest difference when you run one of the Ethanol maps. |

I flashed the V9 tune. I installed cat-less DP already. Logged a short 4th gear pull last night. Hitting 6psi… targeting 17psi. LOL
I’m guessing the CP isn’t installed correctly or it’s got a boost leak. No timing corrections. Sigh of relief honestly because I know the car will be faster. Last edited by Jaronbwall; 09-21-2021 at 09:06 AM.. |

Me likely the VROOM VROOM. I don't want to go 1500 mph to feel the power. I live in a city not a race track.

FWIW, I recently went down to stage 2 from 2+ for a bit. My car on 2 felt gutless compared to 2+. Not exactly sure if it was just in my head but it felt like the car spooled much quicker and pulled much harder in 2+ than 2.
(Full disclosure: I also went from e30 to ACN91 during this switch. Might have played a factor but then I ended up flashing back up to 2+ ACN91 and it still felt way better than stg2)

A log would be super useful for use to help you figure out if there is really an issue here or its just your butt dyno?
Sounds like you weren't hitting boost targets so with 6psi its not even hitting the OE 8PSI targets. After you get all your connections secured grab a log and post it for us to review. |

tej98 Found the boost leak. Thank god. Intercooler to CP popped off just like you mentioned! Wasn't nearly tight enough. Logged the car and targeted 18psi, hit 18.7! No timing adjustments or misfires which makes me feel safe. I wasn't looking for 5000hp so I'm very happy with the car and the MHD tune.
The car is rowdy, fast, and fun again. It needs a WaveTrac LSD now... I got overly excited talking to my GF about it and now she's scared to ride in the car. Oopps.

So quick question, on my 07 e92 I have FBO including inlets outlets and upgraded fuel pump. Stock turbos Stage 2+ on 93oct. My MHD v9 says targeting 18.2 and I've hit 20.2 when I give her all the beans. Is this typical?

For inlets+outlets, that's pretty usual. I hit 19.x all the time on my car with only inlets, never happened on stock inlets. They made the tune on a FMIC+DP car, so that's probably why.

Dude that's insane. 1st and 2nd gear is useless. I'm on new tires too. I can't imagine going much faster. I've always liked the N54 and think MHD did a good job maintaining that "feel". It's angry down low similar to the stock tune. The differential should really be upgraded to handle the power for corning. I hit the some of twisty roads over the weekend in southern Indiana and you can barely touch the throttle. It blows the tires off exiting the corners.

I haven't got the chance to race anything but I'm excited. So many annoying Chargers and Challengers running around my city. The 392 Charger makes 485hp engine, and 420hp tires, but weigh 2,000lbs more.
