This will have to do for now.

nice.

I just got back from picking up a set of generic 18x8s with 9/32nds Michelin Alpin 245/40s for

$250.

They're going to be perfect for my brothers 535i.
they're not even ugly ugly. If they would fit my junk I would keep them.

but my $400 set is smooth and quieter than my conti dws's so I guess I'm doing alright.

After 3 days of rain I finally finished cleaning her and putting the cover on for winter. Here she will sit for 4-5 months until I find a home with a garage to buy.

I don't think so, since the cluster works fine. I think riding on low profile 19s will naturally jar things up after a while.

Installed 3000K LED fog lights, LED blinkers for the front, and tried out an amazon low/high beam bulb (xenon) Not much noticable difference for the xenons, will probably go back to my old bulbs. Everything else though is a huge improvement

Brought it in for the blow by heater recall. Got an X2 courtesy car. Very nice car to drive. Upon picking up my 330i at days end I realised how far BMW has gone towards a more mainstream driving experience. The electronic doodads on the X2 was becoming annoying after a while. So love the purity of my rwd 330i.

Water pump

My E90 has 99,000 miles on still with original water pump and thermostat. They showed no signs of going out but I knew they would leave stranded soon enough so I got it up on the lift and replaced them. Fun DIY, definitely harder on X drive models with little working room. I replaced it with a pierburg water pump from FCP. Did a coolant flush, put the thermostat and pump in. To anyone who has an E90 that has not replaced the water pump it's only a matter of time before they leave you stranded. Definitely one of the weaker points on the car. Not a super hard job but definitely easier with a lift!

my water pump went 140K miles and never left me stranded.

it's 40 degrees out, perfect time to paint wheels.

a scothbrite bath with mineral spirits and $12 of rustoleum.

they're still ugly, but at least now they're not shouting "look at me I'm ugly."

Correct, I'm using the red and chrome cones from the MMP kit. My engine bay is shown here.

Another thing I did today was wire in a 12v converter to two 5v USB power and mounted it in my headliner. It powers my dash cam and will soon keep power on my MHD phone (once the MHD wifi adapter comes in the mail) for the digital gauges. I can add pictures for anyone truly interested.
Definitely interested in your USB power setup. Sounds great for a dash cam.

Convinced the gf to let me get a kayak rack even though I don't own a kayak. I knew it would come in handy!

Coded the fuel economy gauge, on the tach, to display oil temperature instead. I have a used 335i cluster on the way so I will have the correct oil temp gauge tach display (as well as mph/km/h speedo faceplate).

Cheers!

Did valve cover gasket, was not that hard just time consuming since it was my first time. Hardest part was getting it back on since gasket kept on falling out. Had to to remove passenger wiper arm. No more leaks for now.

Possible to do in bimmer geeks ProTool? Great mod

Also, swapped diff and coolant to complete the 100k maintenance items. Noticed no difference after all of it. Yay, maintenance.

I found a DIY here:

https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1590205

The program I used is named Perfekt Toolbox. There's a download link in the OP. I just followed the instructions. It was dead easy.

Cheers!

currently investigating 2-300 treadwear tires.

new to this summer/winter tire gig.

probably going to go from 245/40s to 225/40s.

Replaced my right head light bulb. I'll tell you this - even if you can replace it without removing the wheel, doesn't mean you should. Especially if your car is parked next to the curb. That extra height from the curb is what makes some viewing angles more awkward. I wish it was possible to replace the bulbs from the top.
