Are E90 LCI tail lights LED?

E90 LCI tail lights are normally referred to as LED tail lights. Are they really LEDs? I know the blinkers are definitely LED but the tubes/tail lamp aren't actually LEDs are they?

I know the manual says the tail lamps are LED but really I believe dual filament halogen bulbs for the stop lamps light up the tail lamps (for the outer at least). Not sure about the inner whether the fog lamp bulbs are actually dual filament which light up the inner tails.

Anyone?

The indicators and running bars are LED. The reverse, brake, and rear fog lamps are halogen.

Thanks. I figured that last night. Its just confusing that the stop lamps (incandescent bulbs) also need to be ON for the LED bars to function.

Yeah, something about how the circuit is built I suppose.
