Rear shocks
Hello
I am writing here since I couldnt find definitive answer for my problems anywhere else. I own 2008 e92 coupe 325d equipped with M sports package, which includes m sport suspension. I noticed my rear shock absorbers are leaking and I am looking for replacement. Since I like the way car drives I am looking to go with stock option - Sachs. However I am having trouble finding ones that would go with M sport suspension. Looking at the car parts page I am getting 2 offers from Sachs: -53€ ones, part number 311 410 (white label) https://www.autodoc.de/sachs/781687 -100€ ones, part number 400 038 (red label - probably some kind of enhaced version) https://www.autodoc.de/sachs/1227974 In the description it is stated that both go togerher with standard suspension and with sport suspension. However, heading over to REALOEM, it is stated that part number for standard suspension is 33526780077 and part number for M sports suspension is 33526780081 which implies that m sport and standard shock absorbers are not one and the same part. Heading back to part website it is stated that parts can be used with both part numbers (33526780077 AND 33526780081), so standard and m sport. Is it possible that rear shock absorbers are the same between two types of suspensions and the only difference lies in lower springs for m sport suspension, or they simply unified production for both parts since e92s arent new anymore. I would just like to get clear picture over situation - since I dont want to order parts and then find out that car drives, behaves and looks differently because of more confort shock absorbers. In case I wont be able to resolve this situation I have also considered simply buying bilstein B12 kit, however if possible I will stay on original - since replacing everything can be bit more pricey than just two rear shocks. |

They are not the same, I have replaced mines recently however I do not remember the number... just check with the supplier to make sure it is for M sport (Sachs used to call them Advantage)... mine is 335iA 06 and it feels just perfect for everyday spirited driving... once launched hard, there might be some wheel hop... but there comes other factors in play... other than Sachs I would look into Konis...

Preety weird. Went little deeper and checked Sachs full shock catalogue. It is stated that both standart and sport suspension have same rear shock and that indeed is 311 410. The only difference is in additional shock absorber, which goes by number 900126 in standard suspension and 900127 for sport suspension - can this part provide the difference... On the contrary front does seem to have different main shocks 311403 and 311404 for standard and 311405 and 311406 for sport.
Surely there is some more research to do. |

311 410 x2 is what I got for my M sport rear replacement. Also 311 405 and 311 406 for the front. Note that I'm E90, 335i, however you may want to double check if they are OK for 325 E92 as I am not sure. |
