Fuel smell.........oh god

Had my FP replaced with injectors under the recall two weeks ago. Added a Vanguard exhaust and COBB AP. Now, I smell fuel at idle and after I park....a VERY strong smell...to the point that I've been at work for three hours and I can smell it on me.

Heading back to the dealership tomorrow to have them take a look.

I'm returning it to the stock map but fully expect something to be wrong and them to void my warranty b/c of the exhaust.

Oh well...

Dude you should uninstall instead of just putting it back to the stock map if you're taking it to the stealership ...

Are you sure about that ? I heard that the "p2af3 coding missing" stayed there until you would completely uninstall the AP.

I was also told that the stock map on the AP was just a "universal copy" of what the normal stock car map is and that therefore you couldn't rely on it to be 100% safe regarding warranty issues.

Any idea how your exhaust is doing? Maybe you have a leak there.

This is true. The code remains until you uninstall.

I am certain that you don't want the Cobb installed (even the stock map) and then the dealer modifying the software. One of the major selling points for Cobb is the ease of install / map changes / uninstall. I don't get it. Spend the 5-10 minutes to uninstall!!

OP, what happened when you went in?

Sorry was on travel. I'm uninstalling the AP and taking it in this week...she's been sitting in the garage. Upside is I get to finally drive the SL55 that's been collecting dust since Dec.

On a couple of test drives I have noticed that the e90 smells at idle or coming to a stop. That's the only time it stinks...

Will keep you posted.

Once you're leak/gas smell is sorted out, I hope you'll do a few runs with the 91 & 93 maps agains the sl55 (I bet a friend of yours will be more than willing to help you with that and drive one of the two cars) to see what the outcome will be . Keep us posted and GL with smelling issue.
