Which colour for new brakes?
So I've just bagged a full set of Brembo calipers from the Fx chassis cars in the standard blue colour. They are virtually brand new but do have a few scratches on, not that you'd really notice from a distance. So this has got me thinking about maybe being a little bit different and changing the colour to one of the other factory colours - red, orange or gold/yellow. I quie like the oroange but not sure it it would look a bit gay on my silver E91.
What would you guys do? Stay blue or go for one of the other colours? |

Unless you are going to properly strip the paint and then powder coat it, i would leave it blue.
For your car color and caliper color options, i would suggest red. I personally don't want my calipers visible, so i would paint them black or silver. P.S. nice wheels. |

Well as they are in really good condition and due to my car being silver, I think blue may well be the best option so im gonna stick with that. Just ordered some touch up paint to tidy up any small scratches.

Right choice IMO. They will suit the colour of the car best and it saves the ball ache of getting them painted properly. You should inform your insurance co of them too as otherwise it could be a reason for them to wriggle out of any claim. I had to change insurer once before (Admiral) as they wouldn't cover upgraded brakes.

Planned on doing that after I fitted them, but now you've said that, I think I'll give them a call before I do it. I'm with direct line - anyone know what they're like when it comes to things like this?

As far as I know, direct line don't cover modified cars at all...maybe I'm misremembering though.

If that's the case then I may need to have a rethink as we've got a multi car policy with them which we are only a few months in to. Would be a right ball ache to change it all. |

I think I was wrong. Looks like normal fare there, from their FAQ. Good luck!
