square tire set up and spacers to reduce 335 understeer
I have sports suspension with fixed camber plates upfront. I have -2 camber in the front and -1.8 in the back. I just ordered a set of 4 Kosei K1 17x8.5 with 245s. The K1s have 40mm offset. I will need spacers in the front, from my calculations I need 15mm to avoid rubbing with the front strut.
The square set up is supposed to help reduce the inherent understeer on these cars. Will a wider stance in the front also help with understeer? Should I go with the thickest spacer I can fit in the front? will it make a noticeable difference? This set up is for track only.

Ultimately though if you're experiencing understeer - just slow down. Any car will understeer if you enter a corner too fast. As you increase the grip up front (as you are doing), you'll be able to push that limit before the car understeers higher. Do you have a limited-slip diff? That is a pricey upgrade but helps more than anything on the track, IMO. You can really power out of corners and that will settle the car. The open diff won't allow that. A $0 tuning tool is tire pressure - you can go with more or less in the front/rear to change how the car grips. It will only do so much and obviously be careful.

thanks, I don't have LSD, not thee yet, but it is in my wish list. I clearly understand your point on entering the corners too hot, and tuning tire pressure. Our track is a killer on tires, particularly the hairpin.
I will probably put 18mm spacer upront (I got them with the wheels) and see how it goes. No spacer in the back. Next step will be a set of 255 tires, a bit more rubber should help.
