I know nothing about shocks so I was painting my brakes today and noticed this. i dont know if this is bad condition or normal. This is the rear right, front 2 were a little worse

That looks like your bumpstop; it's a bit worn which is expected. It acts as a secondary spring to prevent the damper (shock) from bottoming out; if not for the bumpstops, the damper would bottom out instantly once it uses up its full travel and it'd be a violent jarring feeling. Really bad.
How many miles on that suspension?

It may also be a good time to inspect both your front struts and rear dampers for wear and replace them as a pair of full set as needed.
