You’re correct . No sign of it.. could my symbols be from a 335i car and not an IS ? This is what I’m leaning towards... and what did are you talking about beside the acc ? The circle beside the road?
Correct

What do the transmission symbols look like? Looks like a M3 to me yet it's still a standard 335is cluster. There's some hardware involved in this (obviously) and it's a work in progress but the dash can be reconfigured with coding, flashing, and VO editing.

This is interesting but doesn’t explain the background symbols differences between the first picture and second picture
The real question is why put a is cluster in a m3

Looks like he swapped an M3 DCT shifter into a 335is and did some coding. Very interesting.

Painful as all hell to watch him redline a cold engine, though

It does. Software update. Do you see the large letters and drivelogic bars on a regular 335is cluster? No, you don't. See if you can find them in the background of a 335is cluster, any year.

It's not a M3, it's a 335is with a M3 shifter and software.

At least you get it. At this point we have the M3 shifter mechanism, knob and boot, and center console piece installed and working with the M3 GTS flash. The Drivelogic button works. Launch control works with the same procedure as a M3 with a 3500 rpm launch. M menus are up in the Idrive and partially working. M3 steering is already retrofittable with servotronics, but now we're trying to get M drive and possibly MDM to function with some hardware changes.

I will be, not because it's necessary, but because they look better. We'll be swapping in a M Drive steering cluster, which is necessary to retrofit M drive even on a early M3 and I have a M3 ABS/DSC unit coming to see if MDM can be accessed as well. Total parts outlay is maybe $1500 +/-. Most, if not all are available used on eBay for a decent price.

BTW, that's not my car but the guy who's actually being the guinea pig for all this. I'm have all my stuff rolling in this week. He has a M3 diff that's going in shortly to hopefully address a rev mismatch on downshifts.
