Lawman, I also ordered mine late August and my dealer told me on the night that I placed the order that I had the last production spot for September. Don't know if he can really tell or was just feeding me BS, but I looked at the computer screen and it seemed like he was telling the truth. My baby is currently in production and will be finished on September 14th according to the 1800 number. My dealer told me that I may be able to pick it up in SC the first week of October. I am pi$$ing my pants because I am so excited. First new car, first ever Bimmer. Congrats on the MB; great minds think alike!

thd13,

Not to get into some long drawn out thing here, but it seems that BMW would have one computer system that all the dealers put their orders into. How would a dealer be able to pick and choose his production spot and why would your spot be so much sooner than mine when we ordered so close together? I'm wondering if your salesman found a car already scheduled for production that wasn't pre-sold to a private party that matched your specs. Either way, hope you post pics if you do get your car sooner than mine. anyway....enough of this off topic chat.

Be aware that Mystic blue is quite flat and doesn't sparkle as metallics usually do.

Le Mans is better and it's a shame that it's only available on the M Sport models

AND only in Europe

Mystic Blue is not that bad really. It has a slight seafoam tint to it, and looks very nice under overcast sky. It is not as sparkly as some other metallic colors.

genesmahser,
You're confusing Artic with Mystic Blue. Mystic is a bright royal blue just like the car in the header of this webpage. Artic is a light silvery blue/green/gray color.

Hmm, not really. I looked at Topaz Blue (was available on earlier 3- series) and Mystic Blue side by side under bright sun, and while Topaz has a slight purple hue, Mystic has a "slightest" green tint to the main blue color. And it appeared a little more "flat" to me, than Topaz. It looks great under subdued light, however. Arctic is much lighter than both, and is more of a pearlescent gray-green.

Anyway, since Le Mans Blue is not available in the US, and Topaz was discontinued, Mystic is the one I ordered for my 330i (with black leather/walnut). Picking up in Munich in less than three weeks !!! I will try to post photos on Oct 11, as soon as I get back to San Diego.

Oh beautiful, beautiful, Mystic Blue. Lawman, those are some nice pics of the Mystic Blue; they really portray the color very well.

I was really set on Mystic, until yesterday, when I went and test drove the 325i to compare against the 330. The 325 was Monaco and there was a 525i in Mystic right next to it. In full sunlight, the Mystic was really bright, maybe too bright for me. The color of the 5 above is a shade or two darker than the actual in full sunlight. The Monaco looked just right. I guess I like the old Carbon Black of the M3 and the Monaco is pretty much like that, just a tad bit lighter.

I took the above pictures myself yesterday. It was full sun and that is exactly what the color looked like. But like I have said a dozen times before.......Get What YOU Like.

my E90 mystic blue

my E90 Mystic blue arrived at the dealer today. Here are the first pics, taken at 6.00pm when the sun was law at the horizon. On one of the pictures you see a Monaco blue on the left. I can't wait to take delivery of the car, but I need to wait for four weeks, until the end of the leasing-contract of my A4. So, expect more pics about half- october.

It is mystic blue metallic. It's just that some people pointed out that it looks less metallic that other medium blues like LeMans for instance. But it looks very good to me!

I didn't know that E90s in Europe came without emblems.

Wow, that's cool. Is that only Europe or is that all BMWs?

You can have any BMW debadged from the factory, even the M6 if you like.

I don't know if the debadging is an option in the US also.

1. Take a piece of a regular floss for teeth (mint variety works too )

2. Slide it in between the edge of the number/letter and car surface and "floss" gently in the direction of the glue until the number/letter separates.

3. Remove residual glue with GOO-GONE-wetted towel.

Some people like to pre-warm the letters with a blow-dryer before de-badging. This procedure will not damage the paint at all.

Hi, getting my mystic blue touring (black interior) this friday 30.09.05 hope to post some pics soon. I think I've made the right choice between arctic and mystic blue its a tough 1!!! Trouble here in London everybody with a new e90 has it in either Grey, Black or Silver. Thought I'd be a little original with mystic as it wasn't in the original dealer brochure (from sept production). So taking a leap of faith. Arctic does look cool though if not a bit girly when it has its green period. Go for Mystic!!!
