Orange Ambient Lighting - dome lights

I have a E90 LCi and have the orange ambiant lighting in the dome lights.

Has anyone modified these bulbs to be brighter or a different color? I would love for the car to be lit up a little bit better at night like the newer BMWs are. Any thoughts?

2008 BMW E90  [8.76]
I got the oem interior lighting kit, it includes 10 LEDs to replace all the bulbs inside the car except glove box and inside the trunk
They are white bulbs, I prefer these because they are not overly bright as most aftermarket LED kit I saw is blindingly bright

If you're talking strictly about the ambient lighting, you would have to solder a new LED to the circuit board.

The trunk light I believe you can get a LED light assembly from BMW as an accessory. Don't know if there is an "official" retro for the glovebox or not, but the bulb is a C5W aka 6418. (I just pulled mine today because the Osram/Sylvania online catalog has some errors and I was making my own bulb chart for my own convenience in the future and to help the community)

Personally I don't go nuts for LED bulb retrofits but the one thing that I did do was to replace the map lights with red LEDs so if a passenger wanted to read at night they could without destroying my night vision. I didn't touch the orange/red little ambient lights though.

If there were a LED bulb retro that would fit in place of the map lights that would match the ambient lights in color, I'd go for it - but the pure red is acceptable functionally.

Edit: yes, the p/n for the BMW LED trunk light is 63312348803. However no listing at getbmwparts - it may have been discontinued?

FYI, the ambient lights (overhead console, door panel trim) are NOT part of your typical "interior led light kit" that you can just buy.

I saw all threads about Dome light LED mods, but the ambiant lighting was what I was concerned about! Too bad new ones have to be soldered... has anyone done this to their E90??

Thanks for all the responses and info on LED interior lighting!

If you are concerned with the brightest LED interior kit options available we can make you one that matches the output of the BMW Interior Kit for a fraction of the cost.

guys check the link, it shows there are 3 types of led interior lights, pack of 4,10 & 2?
the pack of 2 have C5W bulbs, what are they used for? vanity lights or trunk lights?

pre-lci E92 only have one C5W in the glovebox - vanity and trunk are all 6411 (longer 10W)
