Is my coupe rear console supposed to look like this?
Both sides look similar and I am suspecting it's the cause of some squeaking on bumpy roads.
Thing is I gave it a go to like push it into itself and it seems it should clip into but like either part won't budge. I also remove the vent console bit but that doesn't really help anything. Do I have to remove the whole console from the front? Everywhere else my console fitment is perfect... so I'm not sure? Last edited by TheMidnightNarwhal; 02-18-2019 at 03:28 PM.. |

If the console is bolted down you are not going to be able to remove it. I would try loosen the bolts, and then try to get it to fit tighter.

I guess I'll remove the whole console... it's just the fitment all around is perfect so if I like move it back I feel like I'll have a gap at the front where it begins

I've attached a photo of a rear console, so you can see that the gap is where the two pieces meet.

If anyone is interested on how to remove the rear only I found it on this. Looks much simpler than the front and less lenghty!
https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...nsoles/HMi73QB I think I bought the car like this or one side was like this and when I detailed the other side I believe I may have pulled it. I don't recall since that was this summer and only now it started doing some rattle and creaking. |

https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...&highlight=DIY Rear console removal starts at the end of page 3 To fix the gap, just loosen all the bolts and screws holding the rear console down and slide it forward until the gap closes Then tighten everything up again |

Ok gave it a second go took it all out like in your DIY.
Noticed one clip holding the leather/vinyl where it connects to the center console was weak so epoxy it and not it's solid. But after all that success it still won't do a perfect gapless fitment. I was trying over and over pushing it with force into place kind of worked but soon as pressure is let go it pushes out a bit. Tried to push it in then bolt it but go. At least now it's doesn't rattle anymore though and looks a bit better. |
